Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Master of Toxins. For as long as fantasy has been written, one of the main archetypes of the rogue has been that of the poisoner. Assassins wield poison coated blades, snipers lace bolt tips with viper venom, and spies pour small vials into goblets. This subclass aims to let you live out that archetype.

Building Tolerance

Your work with toxins has begun to build up your own bodies tolerance against them. You gain resistance to poison damage and proficiency in both Constitution Saving Throws and Poisoner's kits.

Toxic Coatings

Through your study of poisons, venoms, and toxins, you have concocted a special coating that you can coat your weapons with. When you take this subclass at 3rd level, whenever you use your sneak attack class feature you can change the damage of your sneak attack dice to Poison damage. When you do this, if you hit with the attack the target must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 10 plus the number of sneak attack dice you have or become Poisoned for 1 minute, repeating their saving throw at the end of each of their turns.

Pick Your Poison

Your mastery over toxic substances has allowed you to further develop your Toxic Coating. You now have access to the following additional poisons, and you can use each new poison once before taking a short rest to restock. You may only apply these poisons on an attack that can use Sneak attack, you must declare that you are using this feature before you make the attack, and you must chose to use your Toxic Coating feature when you do. Additionally, the poison damage dealt by your Toxic Coating feature ignores resistance to poison damage.

  • Necrotoxin: When you use this poison, while a creature is poisoned by your Toxic Coating feature they take an additional amount of poison damage equal to half your sneak attack dice at the end of their turns.
    • 17th level: When you reach 17th level, you have increased the potency of your poisons to an even higher level. When you use this poison, the initial attack made with it deals 5d6 additional poison damage, and the additional damage dealt at the end of the creatures turn increases by 2d6.
  • Hallucinogenic: When you use this poison, while a creature is poisoned by your Toxic Coating feature they experience visual or auditory hallucinations, your choice. A creature is either blinded (visual hallucinations) or deafened (auditory hallucinations) until they succeed on their save.
    • 17th level: When you reach 17th level, you have increased the potency of your poisons to an even higher level. When you use this poison, the hallucinations are so strong the targets brain struggles to process them. While poisoned, they act as if under the Slow spell as their mind struggles to keep up.
  • Phototoxin: When you use this poison, while a creature is poisoned by your Toxic Coating feature, the toxins assault the targets ability to focus. At the start of each of their turns while poisoned, a creature must make a Concentration check against your Poison DC if they are concentrating on a spell.
    • 17th level: When you reach 17th level, you have increased the potency of your poisons to an even higher level. When you use this poison, a creature must also make a successful concentration check against your poison DC whenever they try to cast a spell. If they fail, the spell fails to be cast.
  • Neurotoxin (Must be 13th level): When you use this poison, while a creature is poisoned by your Toxic Coating feature the toxin assaults their nervous system. A creature poisoned in this way is considered Incapacitated
    • 17th level:  When you reach 17th level, you have increased the potency of your poisons to an even higher level. When you use this poison, the creature is instead Paralyzed.

Toxic Deluge

At 13th level ,you have enhanced your mastery over poisons. You gain the Neurotoxin option of the Pick your Poison feature, and additionally you gain immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition. Finally, the damage of your Toxic Coating feature ignores immunity to the Poisoned condition.

Miasmic Epiphany

Your poisons have achieved a potency unlike any other. The poisons of your Pick your Poison feature upgrade to their 17th level forms, your Toxic Coatings feature treats immunity to poison damage as resistance, and you can refresh the poisons in your Pick your Poison feature as an action. Finally, you gain a +2 to your Poison DC.
