Master of Melodies
3rd-level College of Symphony feature
Application: As an action, you can begin to play a song, adding musical components from the list below. If a creature is unable to hear you, they are not affected by the song, however, they do not need to understand you. If they have tremorsense, they will still be affected by the song even if they are unable to hear you.
Duration: As long as you maintain concentration, your song will produce its effect at the start of your turn for up to five minutes. You must either spend two uses of bardic inspiration, or take a short or long rest before being able to use this ability again. If you spend two Bardic Inspiration, the song can continue uninterrupted. If you fail a CON save, all components will cease and you must start the song again. If your song is active, you may use your action or bonus action to switch to a new component.
AOE: The area your song can affect is equal to your Proficiency Modifier x 5 feet, and is always centered on you.
Number of targets: if you have to choose targets, the number of total targets is always equal to your proficiency modifier. If you hand out a Bardic Inspiration, you may choose an additional creature. You may not be a target for the effects.
COMPONENTS:
- Lilting melody: You provide 1d4-1 (min 1) healing to all creatures with your AOE.
- Syncopated Rhythms: choose a number of creatures equal to your proficiency mod within 40 ft, you choose skill check, attack roll or saving throw. They have disadvantage on their next roll of that type.
- Discordant verse: if a creature comes within 10 ft of you, as a reaction you play a powerful minor chord from your instrument, creatures in a 15ft cone must make a CON save or have their speed drop to 0 until the end of their next turn. Another melody cannot be played until the end of your next turn.
ALT: it makes the area with 15 ft of you difficult terrain if they are moving toward you
- Upbeat tempo: all creatures within a 10ft sphere centered on you gain 5ft movement speed.
- Triumphant crescendo: after playing this song, if you give out Bardic inspiration you may instead give a use to an mount of creatures equal to your proficiency modifier within 15ft of you
- Abrasive tones: choose an amount of creatures within 20ft of you equal to your proficiency modifier. They must make a wisdom save or fall 1d2(d4?) places in the initiative
- High Harmony: choose an amount of creatures equal to your proficiency modifier. They may use their reaction to make one melee or ranged attack as long as they all do the same action.
- War chant: creatures within 10ft gain +1 ac
- Mesmerizing refrain: creatures within 15 ft have disadvantage on all saves related to being charmed
- Wretched Poetry: choose an amount of creatures equal to your proficiency modifier. They must make a CON save, or take 1d4 poison damage. If they roll a 1, their speed becomes 0 until the end of their next turn as they start to vomit, and they have advantage on all attacks against you for the next 2 rounds
Prodigious Songcraft
6th level College of Symphonies feature
Your skill as a musician grows, and you may now increase the affect of your melodies.
As an action, you may play the current melody a second time, doubling one aspect; its affect, range or number of targets. You may also choose yourself as one of the targets.
Quick Performance
6th level College of Symphonies feature
As an action, you may play a single melody from the list. It lasts one turn before ending. You may use this feature an amount of times equal to your CHA modifier, and gain uses back on a long rest.
Grand Maestro
14th-level College of Symphonies Feature
Your musical creations reach new heights of wonder and complexity. You may choose from the entire list of components, and may now layer a number components on top of each other equal to your CHA modifier. Each one still takes an action or bonus action to activate, but once active, it remains so until the song is done, or you lose concentration. If you do lose concentration, all components will end and you must start again.
If you reach your max number of components, you may swap a component out in the same action that you activate a new one.
Playing a component again with the Prodigious songcraft feature counts toward the total number you can have active.
