Base Class: Monk
You are a Symbol of Peace, a hero and wielder of the power, One for All. You stand vigilant against the tides of criminals and wrong doers of the world, with a smile and positive attitude you will inspire your whole party to do better and be better people. Using the raw strength inherited from all your predecessors, you will crush your enemies with your overwhelming attacks and sturdy body. And when the time comes, you will die fulfilling your duty, secure in the knowledge that your successors will continue where you left off.
Becoming a One for All Inheritor is more than just being a hero, its standing up for the people around you and saving people no matter the self cost.
AUTHOR'S NOTE 1.0: I cannot claim full credit for this monk subclass, as it is heavily influenced by the popular "All Might" monk subclass, by author GLG. This note is to firstly, recognize the author whose subclass influenced mine, secondly to encourage people to check out his other subclasses, and thirdly to highlight and explain the changes I made:
1 ) The main motivation of creating this subclass, was to adapt the "All Might" subclass to be more monk-ish. Monk subclasses, usually, though not always, have features that actually use their unique resource Ki Points; This is the primary vehicle to make monk subclasses feel distinct in interesting ways. The features have been redesigned to use this resource, rather than being reliant on a "CON Uses / Rest mechanic". This change comes with intentional consequences:
- It reduces the effect of not investing in high CON as a class that is notoriously MAD (Multi - Ability - Deficiency Disorder; Describes the class requiring many different high stats to function well. In the case of "ALL Might" you end up needing at minimum DEX, WIS, and CON, with STR being optional but thematically neccessary to role-play a muscleman.
- It provides a common resource pool that players can look at and evaluate the cost to benefit ratio of using features, which will drain this resource increasingly heavily with use. This is in line with how the ability One for All works. It is taxing on the body and should be used sparingly based on imminent need. Additionally, this means the author can be more flexible with the potential power of the abilities, scaling power to more granular quantities of cost. The player can perform a single immensely powerful but expensive strike, or a large sequence of weaker, but more efficient attacks. Even then I admit, I added quite a bit of extra power. I've balanced this by adding limitations (like Score requirements to use a certain number of Ki points) and consequences (potentially fatal backlash from abuse).
2) I wanted to tune features moving power from features that felt insignificant to features that felt too weak (like removing a +1 bonus to STR or DEX when only multiples of 2 actually do anything, and buffing the range of an aura that is too small to be of use in most situations)
3) I wanted to add features of my own that I felt the subclass was missing, like the ability to punch people at range (because who doesn't want to be able to do that?) and thematic elements, like the act of passing on the power to a worthy successor.
4) I simply wanted to remove the name "All Might" and leave the subclass more compatible with other settings, while still preserving the spirit of the subclass.
AUTHOR'S NOTE 1.1: Added some minor changes to enhance readability and added Actions to reflect those granted by Features. These actions automatically take into consideration the size of your Martial Arts Dice, your Proficiency Bonus, and STR / DEX. However, in the case of Greater Smash and Final Smash Supreme, these actions reflect the base value of these augmented attacks. Multiply the # of Martial Arts Dice stated in the action by the number of Ki Points expended when using the feature.
Muscle Form
Starting at level 3, you are capable of assuming Muscle Form, as your body swells with the power imparted to you by the previous wielder of All for One. This form, dedicated to the protection of the innocent, and punishment of the guilty, is a symbol that people can aspire to. This form is taxing for the wielder, costing 1 Ki point / minute (paid at the beginning of the minute) and a Bonus Action to assume. The form provides the following bonuses :
- Your Movement speed increases by 10ft
- You gain benefits similar to a Barbarian's Rage
- Resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing
- Advantage on STR Checks and Saving Throws
- A damage bonus equal to your Proficiency
- Pressure Strike - Through the use of the shockwaves generated from your explosive strikes, You can make attacks against creatures with a range of 10 x STR / DEX Modifier feet
If you run out of Ki Points, you exit this form at the end of the remainder of your minute in Muscle Form. Otherwise, you may exit this state as a Bonus Action.
Greater Smash
At level 6, While in Muscle Form, you can perform a powerful attack that creates a mass amount of wind pressure. When you make an attack, you may spend X Ki Points to augment it into a Greater Smash. X must be less than your STR Mod, and if X is greater than your CON you suffer backlash equal in type and damage inflicted to your main target.
- The initial creature hit by this attack takes 2X Martial Arts Dice + STR / DEX Damage
- Any creature within a 15X ft cone behind the initial target takes X Martial Arts Die + STR / DEX Damage
- Each affected creature must make a STR Saving Throw against you Spell Save DC or be shoved the length of the cone away from you and knocked prone. Creatures that are over X size classes larger than you have Advantage on this save.
- A thunderous boom is emitted as far away as 45X feet.
Symbol of Peace
At level 11, Your Muscle Form begins to be recognized by the masses as the one true Symbol of Peace across the land, inspiring your allies and intimidating enemies that recognize your incredible prowess. While you are in Muscle Form, any Enemy/Group of Enemies that first sees you must make a History check with Advantage to see if they realize who you are, On a success they realize you are the Symbol of Peace and are feared for one round, on a failure they are unaffected. Allies that fight along side you are inspired by your presence; upon performing a successful finishing blow on an enemy all allies within 20ft have advantage on their next strike.
Final Smash Supreme
At level 17, you have mastered the Power of One for All. All abilities from this subclass have their effective cost reduced by 1. Additionally, One For All can now be passed down to a designated successor upon your death. Lastly, you can deliver a massive Smash, using your full power to slam your opponent into the ground. It is powerful enough to send shockwaves reverberating through the surrounding area, and can incapacitate enemies of extraordinary caliber. You must be in Muscle form to be able to use Final Smash Supreme as it takes so much power and it comes at great cost.
As an action you can spend your remaining X Ki Points to use this as the only attack on your turn. The attack gains +10 to hit, deals 3X Martial Arts Dice + STR / DEX Modifier + PROF Bludgeoning damage and the initial target hit is knocked prone and paralyzed for a round. All other targets caught within a 10X radius around you must make a Constitution Saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure they take half damage of the initial hit and are stunned, On a success they take quarter damage.
Additionally you must make a DC 20 CON Saving Throw as you face the backlash of your most powerful move. On a failure you take the damage you roll, even if the attack misses. On a success you take half the damage. If you drop to 0 hit points from this rebound, YOU DIE, and cannot be resurrected, short of the power of a wish spell, or an effect of equal power.

Posted Feb 14, 2020This is really cool class I'm really tempted to add a character like this to my game world. The only thing is could you fix the X values stuff cause it gets confusing like is 2X 2xthe number of ki points or is say 26 martial die.
