Bard
Base Class: Bard

Most bards express themselves through spoken or sung word, through tales of daring deeds or songs of cheeky barmaids. But the bards of the college of dance express their art through the joys of motion and movement. Not bound by the creative restrictions of just using the voice, bards of the college of dance have built their art to inspire, confound and lead others, but also to give them an edge in combat. Experts of movement, dance bards weave about the battlefield, allowing them to get up close with their enemies before darting away again to aid their allies. Never underestimated a bard from the college of dance, for you might find yourself outmanoeuvred.

Fluid Motion

As a member of the college of dance, you have a greater understanding of movement and you can wield this knowledge to greater effect than most. You gain proficiency in Dexterity (acrobatics) and Charisma (performance) skill checks. Additionally, while you are wearing no armour and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier and you gain +10 bonus to your movement speed.

The Dance of Combat

Bards of the college of dance have learned to turn the battlefield into a ballroom, whirling through the fighters and weaving in their attacks when they can. When you attack with a weapon with the finesse property, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls. **This must be done manually in DDB**.

Additionally, if you make a melee attack against a creature with a weapon with the finesse property, that creature can’t make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of your turn.

Attention to Detail

When you choose this subclass at level 3, you gain the ability to utilise your keen awareness to aid the reaction speeds of your allies. You gain the following features:

  • When you roll initiative, you can choose to expend one Bardic Inspiration die and roll it. Add the number rolled to your initiative score, as well to the initiative score of one friendly creature within 15 feet of you.
  • When an enemy creature that you can see within 60 feet has advantage on an attack roll against a friendly creature within 60 feet that you can see, you can use your reaction to make the roll no longer have advantage. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Extra Attack

Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Pas de Deux

From 14th level, you have grown to trust your allies enough, whilst simultaneously honing your own dance skills, that you can perform special choreography with a friendly creature and give a boost to your combined combat power. As an action, you can choose a friendly creature within 5 feet to be your dance partner. You and this friendly creature gain the following benefits until the start of your next turn:

  • You and the friendly creature gain a +1 bonus to your and its AC.
  • You and the friendly creature gain advantage on all attack rolls.
  • You and the friendly creature can add your Charisma modifier to any saving throws you or it make.
  • Both you and the friendly creature can simultaneously use your and their reaction at any point before the start of your next turn to move up to 20 feet, as long as you end up within 5 feet of the friendly creature, and immediately make one attack against a creature or cast one cantrip that takes an action to cast.

You can use this action a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest.
