Lady Luck is a fickle mistress, sometimes she giveth sometimes she taketh away. Some bards who revel in the sheer randomness of the universe and can’t help but fiddle with it whenever possible. Bending luck to ones will is a rewarding if not dangerous game. Bards of the College of Chance can’t help but play this game, and in this game, sidestepping the rules is encouraged.

College of Chance bards enjoy meddling with fate. This practice can lead to astonishing and or devastating outcomes. Some bards of other colleges don’t think highly of the College of Chance, thinking the skill required is minimal or boorish. But the high rollers of this college would disagree, It takes talent to make the predetermined undetermined.

Artful Deceit

3rd-level College of Chance feature

You are a sly genius at misdirection, both with your words and hands. When you make a Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) or Charisma (Deception) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

Spread the Wealth

3rd-level College of Chance feature

Whenever you give out a Bardic Inspiration die you may give out up to as many as your Charisma modifier instead of just one. Whenever you use this feature, you must roll on the Lay-Out Table below. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest.

Snake Eyes (2)

Add the highest number on your Bardic Inspiration die to the any ability check, attack roll, or saving throw you make in the next 10 minutes.

You add a d4 to any ability check, attack roll, or saving throw you make for the next minute.

You gain a use of your Bardic Inspiration, but even numbers are subtracted from the roll and odd numbers are added to it.

You gain a Bardic Inspiration die as normal.

You subtract the highest number on your Bardic Inspiration die to the next ability check, attack roll, or saving throw you make in the next 10 minutes.

Big Red (7)

You gain a Bardic Inspiration die as normal and an expended spell slot up to level 7.

Roll your Bardic Inspiration and subtract that roll from the next ability check, attack roll, or saving throw you make.

You gain a Bardic Inspiration die as normal.

You gain a use of your Bardic Inspiration, but odd numbers are subtracted from the roll and even numbers are added to it.

You subtract a d4 to any ability check, attack roll, or saving throw you make for the next minute.

Roll your Bardic Inspiration and add double the result to any ability check, attack roll, or saving throw you make in the next 10 minutes.



Double Odds

6th-level College of Chance feature

You win some you lose some, ultimately, it’s all about the thrill. Whenever anyone uses your Bardic Inspiration die and rolls the highest or lowest result the die bursts and the character rolls the die again and stacks the numbers, when this happens due to the highest number being rolled (a 6 on a d6 for example) you regain a use of Bardic Inspiration, however if this happens due to a one being rolled, you lose a use of your Bardic Inspiration. The bardic inspiration die bursts only once.

Hot Dice

14th-level College of Chance feature

The strings of fate are at your mercy, conversely you may be at its. Whenever you or an ally within 30ft of you makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can expend a use of your bardic inspiration to reroll a die, the new roll replaces the old one. If this results in a failure you have disadvantage on your next attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Additionally, whenever you roll on the Lay-Out table you may do so twice and choose either result.
