Base Class: Ranger
Rangers that become Starlight Hunters are nocturnal by nature, choosing to stalk their prey from the shadows, finding their true aim by starlight. They are often pious, and choose to worship the goddess of the hunt, Nylea, or a similar deity. Some even choose to multiclass into druids, clerics, or paladins, chasing the starlight through its many forms.
Starry Spells
At 3rd level, you tap into your radiant powers from studying the stars. You learn to harness the light and bend it to your will. You can cast the following spells without expending a spell slot. You can do this a number of times equal to your WIS modifier. You regain use of these spells after a long rest. WIS is your spell casting ability for these spells.
dancing lights (cantrip), magic missile (level 1)
Starry Soul
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to harness constellations’ power to alter your form. As a bonus action, you can take on a starry form.
While in your starry form, you retain your game statistics, but your body takes on a luminous, starlike quality; your joints glimmer like stars, and glowing lines connect them as on a star chart. This form sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet. The form lasts until you end it as a bonus action or until you are incapacitated.
Whenever you assume your starry form, choose which of the following constellations glimmers on your body; your choice gives you certain benefits while in the form:
Archer. A constellation of an archer appears on you. You gain a bonus action that you can use to make a ranged spell attack, hurling a luminous arrow that targets a creature you can see within 60 feet of you. On a hit, the attack deals radiant damage equal to 1d8 + your Wisdom modifier.
Dragon. A constellation of a wise, ancient dragon appears on you. When you make an Intelligence or a Wisdom check or a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on a spell, you can treat a roll of 9 or lower on the d20 as a 10
Lion. A constellation of a brave lion appears on you. You cannot be frightened, and you gain the benefits of the feat Inspiring Leader. Choose up to six friendly creatures (which can include yourself) within 30 feet of you who can see or hear you and who can understand you. Each creature can gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Charisma modifier. A creature can't gain temporary hit points from this feat again until it has finished a short or long rest.
Cosmic Knowledge
Starting at 7th level, you expand your knowledge of the stars. You additionally learn the following spells, and can cast them without expending a spell slot. You can do this a number of times equal to your WIS modifier. You regain use of these spells after a long rest. WIS is your spell casting ability for these spells.
misty step (level 2), moonbeam (level 2), starry strike (level 3)
Full of Stars
At 11th level, while your Starry Form feature is active, you become partially incorporeal, giving you resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
Starry Aura
Starting at 15th level, your starry form emanates a magical aura that fortifies your injured allies. When any ally starts their turn within 30 feet of your starry form, that ally regains a number of hit points equal to half your ranger level. This aura has no effect on a creature that has half or more of its hit points, and it has no effect on undead and constructs.
