Base Class: Fighter
Masters of fighting with a weapon in each hand, Dimachaeri hail from all across the world. Though the name originates from the minotaur pit champions of Xandria known for dual wielding great battleaxes and warhammers, it just as readily describes the deft bladesages of Tektaii or the wild dervishes of the Arcerian desert, to name but a few.
All of these traditions learn to combine both strength and speed, developing independent intention and intuitive action between two weapons that can move imperceptibly from attacking or defending as one to striking out as two seemingly separate entities entirely.
Double Strike
3rd level Dimachaerus feature
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain the ability to deliver staggering blows with a simultaneous attack using both your weapons. Once per turn, when dual wielding and you hit with a melee weapon attack, you may immediately make a single melee weapon attack with your other weapon as part of the same action. If this extra attack hits, the target cannot take reactions until the start of your next turn.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a short rest or a long rest.
Seamless Counter
3rd-level Dimachaerus feature
Starting at 3rd level, you learn to execute offensive and defensive techniques simultaneously with your weapons, striking out in retribution even as you ward yourself from harm. When you are dual wielding and a creature hits you with a weapon attack, you may use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack roll with one of your weapons. If your attack roll exceeds the incoming attack, reduce the attack's damage by 1d10 + your fighter level. Additionally, if the attacker is within melee range of your other weapon, you may make a special melee weapon attack with that weapon against them as part of the same reaction.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses when you finish a short rest or a long rest.
Ambidextrous Combatant
7th level Dimachaerus feature
Starting at 7th level, you can easily use either hand to perform complex tasks, be it writing, drawing, or fighting. Gain proficiency in Sleight of Hand.
Your dual wielding technique now emphasizes rapid, precise attacks, imperceptibly transitioning between the two weapons. When you hit at least once with each of two melee weapons as part of the same Attack action, you may make a single attack with each of those weapons as a bonus action.
Breaking Surge
10th level Dimachaerus feature
Starting at 10th level, when you use your action surge, ranged attacks and opportunity attacks have disadvantage against you until the beginning of your next turn. Additionally, you regain one use each of your Double Strike and Seamless Counter abilities.
Deadly Momentum
15th level Dimachaerus feature
Starting at 15th level, you learn to use the momentum of one attack to feed the next, ever seeking to strike true. Once per turn, if you miss with a melee attack using one weapon, your next melee attack with a weapon in your other hand before the end of the turn has advantage.
Improved Double Strike
18th level Dimachaerus feature
Starting at 18th level, you have mastered attacking with two weapons as one, and can strip away all your opponent's defenses with your unending blows. When you use your Double Strike feature and hit, the target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier). On a failed saving throw, the target is stunned until the start of your next turn.
Web of Steel
18th level Dimachaerus feature
By 18th level, your awareness of your weapons and their control of the space around you is truly incredible. You gain an extra reaction each round that may only be used for opportunity attacks or your seamless counter. Additionally, abilities and conditions that grant advantage to attack rolls based on allies’ proximity (flanking, pack tactics, etc.) do not grant advantage against you.
