Base Class: Rogue
With a world with crossbows, longbows, and even firearms where available, there are legends of expert snipers whom can engage, track, and eliminate a target from entire lands away with nothing more than their eyes and their fingers. You are the combatant the entire battlefield must respect from a safe distance away, ‘lest they find out why.
Tools of the Trade
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Longbows, Heavy Crossbows, and Firearms.
Sniper
Starting at 3rd level, your dexterous hands can keep a steady grip on your weapon for the ease of aiming. You no longer suffer disadvantage when attacking at long range with your ranged weapon attacks. You also gain another way to use your Sneak Attack, that being if you make a ranged weapon attack against a target over 60 feet away and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack, all other rules of the Sneak Attack apply.
Watchful Eye
Starting at 9th level, you’ve come to realize that the best defense for your extreme ranged fighting style are those allies you have out taking the hits for you, and that it’s best to make sure they’re safe so you can keep being safe. If an enemy you can see ends it’s turn within 5 feet of a friendly creature after not being there previously, you can use your reaction to make a ranged weapon attack at that specific target. This attack may apply Sneak Attack if eligible even if you have already applied it in the current round of combat.
Optional: Ad Hoc Repair
As you reach 9th level, here’s an optional rule for the use of Firearms. You can now use a bonus action to attempt to repair a firearm’s misfire. When making the check to do so, you may use your Thieves’ Tools rather than tinker’s tools.
Impeccable Aim
At 13th Level, your steady hands have become capable of consistently administering lethal pressure from quite a distance away. When you apply your Sneak Attack feature to a ranged weapon attack, the Sneak Attack damage increases by 3d6 if you meet the following prerequisites:
- The Ranged Weapon Attack has advantage on the attack roll.
- The result of both attack rolls surpass the target creature’s AC.
- You have not expended any movement before making the attack. After making the attack your movement drops to 0.
Execute
Starting at 17th level, You have become a master at putting down targets as quickly as possible. When you hit a ranged weapon attack against a creature either at or below 30 hit points, they are instantly dropped to 0 hit points.
