Base Class: Rogue
Often a path adopted by yuan-ti or those that frequently get hired as socialite assassins, a Venomsoul undergoes a long, arduous process to augment and alter their body to produce toxins and poisons that they might have ingested over the years.
Although Venomsoul Rogues are somewhat rare, they are often sought after due to their unique abilities. Whether it be from yuan-ti rituals, bathing in the blood of ancient green dragons, or surviving the deadly sting of phase spiders, all Venomsoul rogues have gone through some manner of physiological trauma to have their body withstand even the most intense of poisons - more importantly, they have the ability to produce them using their own body at a moment's notice.
Many Venomsoul rogues have altered forms in some capacity, and take great lengths to make it an identifying mark about who they are if one knows this deadly path.
Consult with your DM about what sort of change you have gone through, or choose an option from the following table for something that would best fit your character.
Venomsoul Bodily Change
| d6 | Change |
| 1 | Your irises or sclera are a different coloration (such as red, violet, or green) that glows more intensely in the dark, mimicking a snake. |
| 2 | The Venomsoul Ritual has left intricate spiraling scars that move across your body in strange geometric patterns. |
| 3 | The Venosoul Ritual has branded your body with intricate tattoos that are faintly raised from the skin - usually of a black or deep green coloration. They depict a serpent, dragon, or other sort of venomous beast. |
| 4 | Your pupils have become slits, and your tongue has become forked like that of a snake. |
| 5 | Your limbs and extremities have begun to develop faint scales, much like a green dragon or a snake. |
| 6 | Your teeth have become hollowed, and extend outward like that of a snake when you open your mouth. |
Poisonous Blood
By 3rd level, you have partaken of a ritual that has altered your physiology.
You are resistant to poison damage, have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid being Poisoned, and ignore the effects of ingested poisons. You cannot accidentally poison yourself when handling, extracting, or applying poison.
When you deal poison damage to a creature, and you are able to use your Sneak Attack against them, you ignore resistance to poison damage.
Body of Venom
Also at 3rd level, your physical form has been altered permanently to take in potions and produce poisonous effects.
You can perform an hour-long ritual (which can be done over the course of a short rest), you can consume a single dose of poison or venom you have with you, and have your body become imbued with it - you can only have one imbued poison at a time, and if you imbue your body with another kind of poison, the first kind is purged from your system.
When you deal damage to a creature with your Sneak Attack, you can subject the target to the effects of the imbued poison, and deal poison damage equal to your Constitution modifier.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your proficiency bonus, and you regain any expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
Empowered Toxins
At 9th level, your exposure to a number of different poisons and venoms has allowed your biology to create stronger, more intense versions.
Whenever you use your Body of Venom feature, you can cause the target to suffer from one of the following effects that last until the end of your next turn.
Redvein Sepsis. The target's veins and blood vessels begin to clog, and reddened veins appear throughout their skin. The target loses any temporary hit points they may have, and cannot regain any hit points or temporary hit points until the end of your next turn.
Eyerot. The target's eyes turn dark, extending from the capillaries and skin close to the eyes themselves. The target suffers Disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight, and has disadvantage on ranged attack rolls if they require sight until the end of your next turn.
Seizeleg. The target's leg muscles begin to seize up and spasm uncontrollably. The target's walking speed is reduced by 20 ft., and have disadvantage on all ability checks and saving throws made to shove creatures or to resist being shoved until the end of your next turn.
Weavestrain. The target's body and mind are wracked with iridescent symbols that begin to burn its connection to its source of magic. The target has disadvantage on the next Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma saving throw they make before the end of your next turn.
Giant's Bane. The target's blood in their muscles begins to quickly rot and decompose, causing their veins to attain a brackish coloration and imparts an intense fatigue. The target's attack rolls and ability checks that use Strength are made with disadvantage until the end of your next turn.
Toxic Body
At 13th level, your body has become much more in tune with toxins, and you can withstand a multitude of poisons at once.
You can now have up to 3 imbued poisons at once, and creatures have disadvantage on saving throws they make to resist their effects.
Additionally, when you are hit with a melee attack from a creature within 5 ft. of you, you can use your naturally caustic blood to your advantage. As a reaction, you can force the creature who attacked you to be immediately subjected to one of your imbued poisons. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Aspect of the Serpent
At 17th level, your body has become a vessel for toxins, poisons, and venoms - these fluids have been empowered by your very life force.
You are immune to poison damage and the Poisoned condition. When you deal poison damage to a creature that is immune to poison damage, the target still takes half of the dealt poison damage anyway.
Moreover, when you use your Sneak Attack against a creature, you can choose to imbue the strike with a combination of your imbued poisons. The target becomes Poisoned - while poisoned in this way, the target takes poison damage equal to half your total Sneak Attack dice at the start of each of its turns for the next minute.
Once you use your Sneak Attack in this way, you cannot use it in that way again until you finish a long rest.
