Base Class: Cleric
Clerics of the Theology Domain are rigorous seekers of knowledge, often confused for their brethren following the Domain of Knowledge. Clerics of both domains pursue study and learning as a form of worship, but focus their study on exploration of faith, faithful, and the many Gods they worship. Theology Clerics would say where their colleagues seek information, they instead seek understanding.
In reality, Clerics of both traditions often follow similar paths and share many values. Where Theology Clerics differ is in the power their studies unlock. In understanding the divine and its connection to the faithful, they can forge connection to a multitude of divine sources--though never quite as powerfully as true adherents.
Blessings of Understanding
When you choose this domain at 1st level, you learn two languages of your choice. You also become proficient in Religion and one other Intelligence-based or Wisdom-based skill. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses either of those skills; this bonus does not stack with another feature, such as Expertise, that doubles your proficiency bonus.
Understanding of the Ages
Starting at 2nd level, whenever you use the Help action, you may elect for your target to gain a d4 to add to their total in addition to the normal benefits of the help action. The die becomes a d6 at 5th level, a d8 at 10th level, and a d10 at 15th level.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Channel Divinity: Leap of Faith
Beginning at 6th level, you can use your Channel Divinity to become empowered by an additional domain. As an action, choose a Cleric Domain (the Theology Domain may not be selected). For the next 10 minutes, you have access to that Domain's spell list and its 1st and 2nd level powers as if you were a Cleric of that Domain. This feature's duration must end before it can be activated again.
Using this feature does not restrict your access to your other Theology Domain features.
Blessed Strikes
At 8th level, you are blessed with divine might in battle. When a creature takes damage from one of your cantrips or weapon attacks, you can also deal 1d8 radiant damage to that creature. Once you deal this damage, you can't use this feature again until the start of your next turn.
Expansive Faith
Starting at 17th level, you may select a Domain at the end of a long rest. In addition to your Theology Domain features, you also gain the spell list, 1st, 2nd, and 6th level features of the selected Domain. These features are treated as permanent until a different Domain is selected at end of a long rest. Only one Domain can be selected by this feature at any given moment; one set of features expires instantly upon the selection of a new Domain.
