Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

On an island across the deep sea, a man bellows a guttural cry and dives into the water to spear a fish. A scarred woman brandishes her long hooked weapon and growls a warning to her tribesmen before her face is set aflame and she swings wide. A water Genasi summons a shark from the ocean and sends it chasing after the roving band of pirates who have struck his settlement for years, splintering their ship. All these are signs of a Wayfinder Barbarian, an island native who may be seeking their fortune, attempting to earn forgiveness after exile, or maybe even a demigod bored out of his skull and just wanting to feel young again!

Ta Moko

At third level, some ocean deity is very pleased with your rage and has bestowed you several magical tattoos.

On your turn, you may use an action to grab a tattoo from your body, which will appear as whatever item or ability you have selected in your hand. The tattoo will leave your skin for the duration of the action.

Your tattoo will continue to serve its purpose until dismissed with a bonus action or destroyed.

After a long rest, all tattoos you activated will return to your body to be summoned again. Each tattoo may be used once per long rest.

First Tattoo: Manaiakalani

Your first magical tattoo is of any one simple weapon you do not currently carry, and can be placed anywhere on your body.

King of the Waves

Gain the following benefits:

Backstroke

Gain a swimming speed equal to your total movement speed.

Age of Sail

Gain proficiency with water vehicles.

Dha Werda Verda

Your tribal customs include the Dha Werda Verda, a ceremonial dance that builds camaraderie and may strike fear in the hearts of your enemies! As an action, your character may dance, forcing any creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature becomes frightened of you for up to 1 minute.

On your subsequent turns, you must use another action to continue dancing and keep your target terrified, or the effect ends. The creature may also make a Wisdom saving throw at the end of each of their turns. On a success, the effect ends on that target and the effect cannot be reapplied.

Your Save DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. You may use this action as many times as your Barbarian can rage.

Kirituhi

Tattoo 2: In Tune With Nature

At 6th level, choose a beast with a challenge rating of 1 or less to have tattooed on your skin. You may gain a second beast tattoo at level 10, and third at level 14.

Using an action, grab and throw your beast tattoo, which will summon a fey spirit that takes the form of your chosen beast. It will appear in an unoccupied space you can see within 5 feet of you. The fey beast disappears if it drops to 0 hit points or when you take a long rest. You may use a bonus action to send the beast away as well. As with all other tattoos, you may only activate this tattoo once per long rest.

The fey creature is friendly to you and your companions for the duration. Roll initiative for the creature, which has its own turns. It obeys any mental commands issued to it (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to the fey creature, it defends itself from hostile creatures but otherwise takes no actions.

Tatau

Gain one of the following tattoos:

Any one type of food.

When activated, your"food" tattoo counts as rations for one person for one day.

Any one type of plant.

When activated, you may summon any plant, excluding those that have special abilities, and place it.

Food Tattoo

Choosing the "food" tattoo provides the Barbarian with rations for one person for one day.

Plant Tattoo

Using the "plant" tattoo summons any plant excluding one with special abilities, like a goodberry.

War Face

As a bonus action, make a war face. Gain advantage on Charisma (intimidation) checks against any creature who sees your scary face.

Pe'a

You must choose whether you will be as cool as the sea foam or as hot as Pele herself! You may tattoo either a volcano or wave onto your body.

Volcano

Grab and throw your volcano tattoo, which instantly summons an erupting volcano which springs up from the ground made of earth and stone that lets you cast the Fire Storm spell once from the mouth of its crater. The volcano is a cone shape of about 30 cubic feet, weighing approximately 200 tons.

Your volcano remains where it was summoned until it is removed by force (ie. shoveling or dynamite), or it magically disappears after your next long rest, leaving behind whatever devastation you wrought.

Tsunami

Grab and throw your wave tattoo, allowing you to cast the Wall of Water spell.
