Base Class: Monk
Monks training in the Way of Acupuncture learn about the pressure points of the body, and train to accurately hit them with their Ki.
With their use of Acupuncture they can manipulate bodies of others and themselves in a certain ways. Those methods can be healing, disabling and even deadly to the target.
Some monastries only delve in the healing and relaxing aspects of Acupuncture, while others dig deeper and learn the darker practices of it.
Pressure Point Technique
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your enemy’s ki when you harness your own. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose one of the following effects on that target:
- It has disadvantage on attack rolls with weapons until the end of your next turn.
- It is deafened until the end of your next turn.
- It is blinded until the end of your next turn.
- It's movement speed is halved until the end of your next turn.
Acupuncture Session
When taking this subclass, you learn how to treat people with Acupuncture. This treatment last 1 hour and can be done during a Short Rest or in the Long Rest, while you aren't sleeping.
At the end of treatment you can choose one beneficial effect for the receiving creature to get:
- You end the poisoned condition or one disease of the treated creature. The DM may decide to grant success based on a skill check using Wisdom (Medicine) or another suited skill check.
- The treated creature receives Temporary Hit Points equal to your class level + Wisdom modifier. These Temporary Hit Points last until the creature's next long rest.
- You cure the treated creature of 1 level of exhaustion.
Point of Healing
At 6th level, you learn how to hit and motivate the Pressure Point of Healing in a living creature with your Ki, which causes a burst of natural regeneration in the creature.
As a bonus action, or in place of one melee Attack of your Attack Action, you can press the pressure Point of Healing of a willing or incapacitated, living creature and pumping 1 to 3 ki points into that creature.
That creature automatically expends Hit die equal to the number of ki points used, for each expended Hit die, the creature heals for your Martial Arts Die + Wisdom modifier. If there are no Hit die to expend, then the creature takes necrotic damage equal to your Martial Arts Die + Wisdom modifier, for each Hit die, that couldn't be expended.
Disrupting Counter
Beginning at 11th level, you gain the ability to hit various Ki Pressure Points that control the muscles in combat. When you are targeted by an attack from an attacker who is within your range, spending 1 Ki Point, you can take your reaction to try to disrupt his attack by temporarily disabling the Ki-Flow in the attacker. Make an attack against the attacker, if it hits, the attacker takes damage from the counter-attack and their attack misses. In addition, the attacker has disadvantage on all attacks, until the end of their turn.
Ki-Gate of Conciousness
At 17th level, you gain the ability to hit the pressure point of Conciousness, called the Ki-Gate of Conciousness, inside a creature's body.
As an action, spending 4 ki points, you can make an unarmed attack or an attack with a thin, needle-like weapon on a creature.
If the attack hits, the creature has to make a Constitution Saving Throw against your Wisdom save DC, at disadvantage if the attack was a critical hit, on a failure the creature falls unconcious for 10 minutes.
With an action, another creature can attempt to wake up the unconcious creature. The unconcious creature can then retake the saving throw, waking up on a success.
