Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Way of the Arcane fist taps into the natural transference of talents. Ki is the dew of the soul, which monks tap into to summon forth power to master their own bodies. Magic is the lifeblood of the weave, which is the vein system that connects all creatures and their inherent magical force. It is only natural that mastery over Ki should lead to the ability to learn the secrets of magic and mana. Monks of this tradition master their own bodies to summon forth magical energy from their Ki, gaining the ability to not only strike with the power of Ki, but also fire off magical blasts of energy and elements, plucking at the strings of the weave to summon forth energy untold. Monks of this tradition gain spell slots, and ways to enhance their ability to fuse hand to hand combat and magical blasting.

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you augment your martial arts and Ki abilities with the ability to cast spells. Your spellcasting ability is wisdom, and you choose spells from the Wizard spell list.
Cantrips. You learn two cantrips of your choice from the wizard spell list. You learn another wizard cantrip of your choice at 9th level, and yet another one at 17th level.
Spell Slots. The Way of the Arcane Fist Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your wizard spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Magic Missile and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Magic Missile using either slot.
Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher. You know three 1st-level wizard spells of your choice, two of which you must choose from the evocation spells on the wizard spell list. The Spells Known column of the Way of the Arcane Fist Spellcasting table shows when you learn more wizard spells of 1st level or higher. At least two of your spells known at any time must be of the evocation school.
Spellcasting Ability. Wisdom is your Spellcasting ability for your Wizard spells, since your spells are gained through converting mastery of Ki into mastery of the Arcane. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your Spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when settling the saving throw DC for a Wizard spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Spell Transfusion

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manipulate your magic into Ki using your knowledge of how the arcane translates into your own internal dance. Using 1 minute of uninterrupted focus, you can transfuse your spell slots into Ki Points. The amount you can transfuse per spell slot used can be seen in the Spell to Ki Transfusion table below.

Additionally, when you use your Flurry of Blows feature, you can instead cast a cantrip with a casting time of one action.

You can also use a talisman as a Spellcasting Focus. These focuses don't have to be wielded in your hand, and are usually articles of clothing or jewelry. A list of common talisman choices by these monks is presented below, though you can pick anything that makes sense for your character.

Braided Wristband
Gemstone Necklace
Prayer Beads
Mask
Wooden Ring

Deflect Magic

At 6th level, you gain the ability to use your deflect missiles in combination with your mastery over magic to deflect magical attacks that target you. You gain the ability to use deflect missiles to reduce the damage of spell attack, able to use 2 Ki points to make a spell attack with the deflected magic.

Spell Weaving Flurry

Beginning at 11th level, you can transfuse your flurry of blows to fire off a spell. When you use your flurry of blows feature, you can instead use it to cast a spell with a casting time of one action. Additionally, you gain a +2 to constitution saving throws against losing your concentration.

Mind and Mana

At 17th level, you gain the final ability of any monks who stick their course in learning the secrets of arcane. Your energy becomes visible, flowing out of your body, as you have not only expanded your horizons into the essence of arcanum, but you have still managed to keep your monk tradition, sacrificing nothing and gaining so much even in exchange.

When you attack using your action on your turn, you can use your bonus action to cast a cantrip with a casting time of one action, without having to spend a Ki point on Flurry of Blows. Additionally, you gain a +2 to both your spell save DC and your Ki DC.

Using 5 Ki points, you can cast one of your known spells as a 5th level spell, without using a spell slot. You can use this feature 3 times, and regain all expended uses on a long rest.
