Base Class: Fighter
The Fatal Pace Fighter excels in unleashing rapid succession strikes upon opponents. Rather focusing on strengthening their attacks or performing daring maneuvers, those of the Fatal Pace prefer to overcome opponents by means of landing as many blows onto the opponent before they can strike back. This archetype is all about ending fights as briskly as possible, even if it means pushing yourself to your limits in order to do so.
Blade before Body
Upon gaining this archetype at 3rd level, your Fighter’s extensive training allows for them to push themselves in order to dish out as many attacks as possible. Choosing this archetype immediately gives you an additional Action Surge. Also, you become capable of performing additional attacks at the expense of your own well-being. You are able to choose to attack again (melee attacks only) after you have finished your normal attack, extra attack(s), and action surge (before a bonus action), at the expense of suffering from one point of exhaustion. The additional attack from this archetype can only be used once per turn, and cannot be used once the character has reached fifth level exhaustion.
Vigorous Stamina
Upon reaching 7th level, your body is quick to recover from injury. You gain an additional use of Second Wind. Also, finishing a short or long rest will reduce one level of exhaustion.
Blistering Speed
Starting at 10th level, you are able to reroll any initiative rolls of 5 or lower. Your movement speed increases by 5ft. Opponents have disadvantage on opportunity attacks against you, and any opportunity attacks that land deal half damage to you. Also, long rests reduce two levels of exhaustion.
Spirit of the Zephyr
At 15th level, your attacks become executed so extremely fast that they conduct an electrical charge. If your first attack and your second attack both land upon the opponent, then a third attack done through an Action Surge or through use of Sword before Body will deal 4d4 lightning damage if the third attack lands, and halved damage if the third attack misses. If a fourth attack is executed afterward (that successfully lands and deals damage to the opponent) and all three previous attacks successfully hit the opponent, then the opponent must make a Constitution saving throw (DC=8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength [if the attack was Strength based] or Dexterity [if the attack was Dexterity based] modifier). If the opponent fails this saving throw, then it is stunned until the end of its next turn.
Unparalleled Expertise
When reaching 18th level, you become the perfect incarnation of speed. You become capable of exerting the entirety of your life force into your attacks and breaking the normal limits of the mortal body. You are able to expend one use of Second Wind per turn to deal an additional attack (after normal attack, extra attack(s), action surge, and additional attacks from Sword over Body) that does not increase your exhaustion level. Also, you become capable of dealing as many attacks as you want through use of Sword over Body within a single turn, and you can do so all the way up until the 6th level of exhaustion. You cannot be forced to attack after 5th level exhaustion by mind controlling/altering effects from outside sources.
