Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Contrary to popular belief, there is more than one world tree scattered throughout the planes of existence. Towering and ancient monoliths, these are no mere plants, either. They are ancient spirits of nature that, at times, may choose a champion to punish defilers of the wild places or a guardian to protect the forests.

Expanded Spell List

Your patron lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a Warlock spell. The following spells are added to the Warlock spell list for you.

Spell Level Spells
1st Entangle, Speak with Animals
2nd Barkskin, Spike Growth
3rd Plant Growth, Speak with Plants
4th Blight, Conjure Woodland Beings
5th Awaken, Tree Stride

Grasping Roots

Starting at 1st level, you can summon roots from the ground to block your foes.

As a bonus action, you can choose a creature on the ground that you can see within 90 ft. of you. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Spell Save DC or be Restrained until the end of your next turn, as roots spring up and grasp it.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Nature's Magic

At 6th level, your patron grants you access to the magic of nature.

You can perform a 10-minute ritual and choose a spell from the Druid spell list. The spell must be of a level equal to or less than your Warlock spell slots. Until you finish a long rest, you can cast the chosen spell once without expending a spell slot - this spell counts as a Warlock spell for you when you do.

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

Crushing Roots

At 10th level, your Grasping Roots are more deadly.

Whenever you use your Grasping Roots feature, the target that is Restrained by the roots takes bludgeoning damage equal to 1d6 + your Warlock level if it fails its saving throw, or half as much on a success.

Form of The Forest

At 14th level, your patron has bestowed a modicum of its power onto you.

You gain the ability to transform into a tree-like being, a guardian of the forests. As an action, you can gain the following benefits, which last for the next 10 minutes:

  • You gain a number of temporary hit points equal to twice your Warlock level.
  • The reach of your Unarmed Strikes and all of your melee weapon attacks increases by 5 ft.
  • You gain resistance to bludgeoning and piercing damage.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a Warlock spell slot to do so again.
