Base Class: Sorcerer
Your powers spring from a dark background, perhaps from the tragic love between a vampire and a human thwarted by their opposing natures and the world around them. Or perhaps your ancestral home was once the home of vampires whose presence tainted the land in ways the simple villagers never fully understood, but feared, leaving infants like you in the wild as an offering to the vampiric spirits. Possibly, an ancestor of your family was bitten deeply by a vampire, and his bloodline gained strange vampiric tendencies, fully manifesting in your powers. This mysterious strain of vampiric power was unlikely to have been celebrated by your family, who were much more likely to attempt to hide their dark power from the rest of the world. Perhaps the vampiric bloodline has driven your once renowned family into hiding or forced your ancestors to roam the land looking for work, always afraid to stay too long in one place lest someone discover their secret. You choose how you view these powers. Do you see yourself as cursed with a dark burden you seek to be free from, do you revel in the dark strength within you, or do you try to walk some middle path between these extremes?
Vampiric Bite
Your teeth elongate, revealing gleaming fangs hungering for flesh. This is a natural weapon and counts as a simple melee weapon for you. It deals 1d10 piercing damage plus your Strength modifier on a hit. Once on each of your turns when you damage a creature with this any damage type of this bite, you regain a number of hit points equal to half your damage dealt.
Dark Gifts
You gain resistance to necrotic damage. You also gain the option to add an additional 1d10 necrotic damage on a hit with your Vampiric Bite attack or charm the bitten target.
Enhanced Charm
Whenever you charm a creature, any saving throw made against the charm effect is made with disadvantage. If the saving throw of your target would ordinarily be made with advantage, the saving throw is made without advantage or disadvantage. For any creature targeted by your Vampiric Bite, you may expend one sorcery point to give your target disadvantage on the saving throw.
Also, you gain the spell charm person, which no longer counts against the number of spells known. If you already knew the spell charm person, you gain a new spell to replace it.
Dominating Bite
When you use your Vampiric Bite attack to charm a target, if your target fails the saving throw, he is now subject to a Dominate Person spell. If you use your Vampiric Bite to deal additional necrotic damage, you now deal an additional 3d10 necrotic damage.
Misty Regeneration
Misty Escape: 18th-level Vampiric Bloodline feature
When damage reduces you to 0 hitpoints, you may choose to instead be reduced to 1 hitpoint and change shape into a mist form for ten minutes. In mist form, you are immune to all nonmagical damage, and can pass through solid objects without a penalty. For every minute you spend in mist form, you restore 1d10 hitpoints. You cannot speak or cast magic in mist form. If you wish, you may end this mist form early with an action, taking one minute of concentration to do so.
