Bard
Base Class: Bard

The name "College of Punk" was originally coined as a term of derision but was quickly adopted as a badge of honor by those drawn to the ethos. These Punks are known for loud parties, louder music, and an anti-authority streak that frequently lands them in trouble. It's most common to see them wearing mismatched, sometimes ragged clothing, often beneath studded leather.

Their reputation for trouble isn't entirely unwarranted, but that trouble is rarely without a purpose. These bardic punks value personal liberty above all, are compelled to stand up against authoritarianism, and strive to tear down corrupt establishments. What they aren't known for is subtlety, especially when confronting the evils they see in the world.

Authority figures tend to paint the College of Punk as a collection of thugs and criminals, causing needless mayhem and damage wherever they go. Those who look deeper often come to view them as more akin to wandering Paladins, dedicated to sowing the seeds of discontent among oppressed people who just need a push toward action against tyranny.

Lust for Life

3rd-level College of Punk feature

When you join the College of Punk at 3rd level, your desire for self-sufficiency has led you to pick up some do-it-yourself skills. Choose one type of artisan's tools to gain proficiency with.

You also learn the thaumaturgy cantrip, which is a Bard cantrip for you, and doesn’t count against the number of Bard cantrips you know.

Whenever you are using the Performance skill or Countercharm (once available), you may also cast thaumaturgy each turn as part of that performance, with no additional action required.

Smash It Up

3rd-level College of Punk feature

Also at 3rd level, your Bardic Inspiration can be used to propel your allies to action.

You can use a bonus action to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and select one ally within 30 feet of you that isn’t incapacitated and can see or hear you. That ally may immediately use their reaction to make one melee weapon attack.

Additionally, whenever an ally expends a Bardic Inspiration that you had previously provided to them, you may immediately use your own reaction to make one melee weapon attack against an enemy within your reach.

Sonic Reducer

6th-level College of Punk feature

Starting at 6th level, when you gain the Countercharm feature, the manic energy and exceptional volume of your performance doubles the Countercharm's effective range to 60 feet.

Additionally, all allies under your Countercharm effect have advantage on any rolls to detect or save against illusions.

Decontrol

14th-level College of Punk feature

Beginning at level 14, you can energize your allies to rise up and resist the forces oppressing them. While using the Countercharm feature, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration to infuse your performance with a ripple of disruptive energy.

When you use Decontrol, each ally under the effect of your Countercharm may immediately make one saving throw, with Advantage, against a condition or effect that they are currently subjected to. This benefit only applies if the condition or effect already allows a saving throw each turn to end the effect. Alternately, they may attempt to escape from a grapple. If the attempt usually requires an action on the target's part, this instance does not.
