Base Class: Barbarian
The tradition of shamanism has been passed down between Druids and Hermits alike. Some Barbarians who practice this method of natural healing and spiritualism set themselves apart from their brutalistic kin. A Barbarian Shaman harnesses both the rage of a beast, and the calm of their healing spirit.
Shaman Trance
Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can choose to clear your mind and go into a trance-like state. Trances take the place of Rages and draw from the same pool of uses. While in a trance, you cannot enter a rage, and any effect that may take place from being in a rage can also be triggered by a Shaman Trance. While Trancing, you gain the following benefits.
- You gain advantage on Wisdom skill checks and Wisdom saving throws.
- You heal a number of hitpoints each round you spend Trancing equal to the damage bonus gained during a rage.
- You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
In addition, you gain proficiency in medicine and the herbalism kit if you don’t already.
Spiritual Remedies
Starting at 6th level, you have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned. In addition, on your turn you can use your action to end any effect causing you to be poisoned.
Eyes of the Witch Doctor
Starting at 11th level, when you enter a Rage or Trance, you can see invisible creatures or a shapeshifter’s true form within 30 feet of you.
Restorative Rage
Starting at 14th level, when you begin a Rage or a Trance, you regain hitpoints equal to your barbarian level. If you are at full health when you begin a Rage or a Trance, you gain that amount of hitpoints as temporary hitpoints.
