Base Class: Wizard
The Runic Magic subclass allows one to craft runes out of spells with an activation requirement. Once the rune has been activated it will cast the spell on the target unless other specifications were set.
Runic Arts
While casting a spell you can choose to turn the spell into a rune. In order to turn a spell into a Rune the caster must choose an item within five feet of the caster. The casting time for the original spell is doubled (1 action will take the full round, 1 minute takes 2 minutes, etc…) when casting this way. While casting the spell the caster will choose what activates the spell. The activation can be simple (when someone walks within 10ft.) or it can be intricate (when a someone of a certain alignment does something hostile. The activation must be something that can feasibly happen within 30ft of the Rune. The caster must also choose how or who the spell targets once activated. The rune lasts until activated, until dispelled by the caster, or until a dispel Magic spell is activated equal to the level of the spell used. The to hit and save DC are equal to the casters.
Be Prepared
starting at 2nd level and every level thereafter you can learn an 3 new spells instead of 2.
Runeception
Starting at 6th level you learn how to weave a rune into another rune. You can now place a rune on top of or within another already crafted rune. Doing so will reduce the save or to hit of both runes by 2. Adding more runes doubles the penalty of all runes.
Rune master
Starting at 14th level you gain the ability to teleport to any rune that you have crafted. You can bring up to 5 people along with the caster. Doing so causes the rune teleported to to dispel.
Transfigure spell
Starting at 10th level you can now transfigure a spell or rune. When casting a spell or rune you can expend one use of transfigure spell to cause the spells DC to become a To Hit or the spells To Hit to become a DC. The DC and To Hit are equal to the casters. You have a number of uses equal to your intelligence modifier. You regain uses from a long rest.
