Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Everyone knows at least one of the stories of the multiverse’s greatest strongmen, whether it be Hercules, Samson, Grog, or Beawulf. These figures all have one thing in common, strength beyond that of even the heroes who share the same mythos. Those who follow the Path of the Living Legend seek to acquire this same strength, and often seem larger than life because of it.

Tall Tales

Even those who have only just begun their path to mythological status seem to be larger than life. When you gain this subclass at 3rd level, you gain the following benefits:

  • You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity, what creatures you can grapple, and  the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
  • Your unarmed strikes can deal bludgeoning damage equal to 1d8 + your Strength modifier. If you strike with two free hands, the d8 becomes a d10.
  • While raging, you can attempt to grapple or shove a creature as a bonus action, if you have already taken the Attack action on your turn. If you have a creatures grappled, you may instead make an unarmed strike with your bonus action.

Humble Origins

Like many figures of myths and legends, you were someone before the legends began. When you take on this path at 3rd level, you can add double your proficiency bonus to the skills granted to you by your background. This does not stack with features like Expertise.

Heroic Disposition

Your mere presence wards against effects that would stray you and your friends from your conviction. Beginning at 6th level, you and your allies within 5 feet of you have advantage on saving throws made to avoid being charmed or frightened while you are raging. If you are charmed or frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage.

Larger than Life

When you reach 10th level, your stature finally begins to live up to the tales the follow your name. You grow 4d4 inches. This size isn’t just for show, as it allows you to get in damage even when you normally would’ve missed. When you make an attack while under the effects of Reckless Attack, any attack that would miss the target still deals damage equal to your rage damage bonus, and while raging your rage damage increases by 1.

Epic Proportions

Your work has paid off, and you have become a physical embodiment of the mythological strongmen that inspired you. Starting at 14th level, when you enter a rage, you gain the following benefits:

  • Fabled Size: You grow to match the size of the rumors surrounding you. Your size doubles in all dimensions, and your weight is multiplied by eight. This growth increases your size by one category—from Medium to Large, for example. If there isn’t enough room for you to double in size, you attain the maximum possible size in the space available.
  •  Unmatched Might: Your increased size causes your strength-based melee attacks to deal 1d4 additional damage.
  • Fantastical Resilience: With skin like stone and a will like iron, you seem impossible to bring down. Reduce all damage taken by 3. You apply this reduction after resistances.
