Bonus Proficiency
When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency with heavy armor.
Aegis Ward
Also starting at 1st level, when a willing creature within 30 ft of you is attacked, you can use your reaction to interpose a shimmering barrier of holy magic between the target and attacker. The attacker has disadvantage on the attack roll. If the attack fails, the attacker has disadvantage on any attacks it makes until the end of it's turn.
Channel Divinity: Unstoppable Bulwark
Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to defend your comrades and provide cover.
As an action, you can create a large barrier of holy power to defend your comrades in a space adjacent to you. The barrier is 15ft. long, 10ft. high, and 5ft thick. The barrier floats inches off the ground, moving to remain adjacent to you as you move. You can determine which direction it is facing on your turn (no action required). A creature can occupy the barrier’s space, but it treats movement there as difficult terrain and has disadvantage on all saving throws while it is the barrier’s space. The barrier starts with maximum health equal to your cleric level + three times your wisdom modifier, and has resistance to psychic and poison damage. When a creature on one side of the barrier takes damage from a source in or on the other side, you can choose for the barrier to take that damage instead. Whenever you cast a spell that would heal a creature, the barrier regains health equal to your proficiency bonus + your wisdom modifier, up to it's maximum health. The barrier is dispelled if it runs out of hit points, if you fall unconscious, or if you dismiss it as a bonus action. If the barrier is dispelled by damage that would bring it below zero hit points, the additional damage is nullified.
Aspects of the Protector
Starting at 6th level, your devotion to defending your cause grants you special abilities:
- Whenever you heal one or more creatures, you can give one of them an AC bonus equal to half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) until the start of your next turn .
- While wielding a shield, you gain a +1 bonus to AC.
Improved Aegis
At 8th level, you gain the ability to use your Aegis Ward feature without using a reaction. If you use Aegis Ward feature in this way, you cannot do so again until the start of your next turn. Additionally, when you use Aegis Ward and you are within 5ft of the targeted creature, you can switch places with them as part of the same reaction, moving them out of harm's way. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks. This switch occurs after the attack is resolved.
Indomitable Defense
At 17th level, you gain resistance to two damage types of your choice, choosing from bludgeoning, necrotic, piercing, radiant, and slashing. Whenever you finish a short or long rest, you can change the damage types you chose.
As an action, you can temporarily give up this resistance and transfer it to one creature you touch. The creature keeps the resistance until the end of your next short or long rest or until you transfer it back to yourself as a bonus action.
