Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

This school of wizardry is not focused on the nature of magic itself, but how magic effects, changes, or even makes creatures. While many of these wizards share the animal-loving tendencies of a ranger or druid, they gain their knowledge of the fantastic beasts of the world through study and learning, learning to love them by understanding them, even if not nature as a whole.

NOTE: Anywhere the term "beast" or "creature" is used in this subclass, it means any kind of animal (sentient or otherwise) that is NOT a humanoid. This means things like a Kelpie or a Aboleth still count as "beasts" for this subclass while creatures such as an Owlbear still would as well. So when referring to "beasts" or "creatures" I do not mean the category, I mean anything that can be reasonably called an animal.

Beastial Study

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, your understanding of beasts through study shows it's fruits. At the end of every long rest you can choose a number of beasts equal to your intelligence modifier to study/research. You learn their general tendencies, habitats, diet and abilities, as well as common fears or enjoyments and how one can care for them.

(For example when it comes to abilities, studying a Kelpie you'd learn about it's seaweed form)

There is no limit to how long you retain this knowledge, however to call upon it accurately requires a Intelligence (Nature) check, DC 1 + the number of times you've used this ability since then. You make this check at advantage if you frequently (twice per week or more) care for the beast in question.

Unbreakable Beastial Bond

Beginning at 2nd level, you learn the Find Familiar spell if you did not learn it already. Your familiar can take the form of any small or tiny sized magical creature whom you have studied and met. It is friendly to you, and possesses the same statblock as that creature normally would. This ability is subject to your DM's approval. Additionally, you no longer have to make an Intelligence(Nature) check to recall information gained through your Beastial Study ability about the creature your familiar is. Your familiar however cannot change its shape, so whichever form you choose is permanent, even when re-summoned.

Friendly Presence

Starting at 6th level, your unrelenting kindness, friendship, and compassion for creatures creates a sense of safety around you. Whenever a hostile or nuetral beast ends it's turn within 30ft of you, and can see you, you may use your reaction, to make it need to make a Wisdom saving throw equal to your spell save DC, or go from hostile to neutral, or neutral to friendly. On a successful save, it is immune to this effect for 24 hours, and a creature cannot be reduced in threat twice within a week. If you or your allies force the creature to make a saving throw or take damage, it instantly becomes hostile regardless of it's prior state. A creature made friendly this way will not listen to commands, but will be significantly less inclined to harm you.

Beastial Co-operation

Beginning at 10th level, you can use a Bonus Action to command any friendly beast or your familiar to take the attack action. If the beast has a mulit-attack it can use it. If you are not using your familiar for this Bonus Action, it is up to your DM to decide whether or not the beast will follow your order.

Home Away From Home

Starting at 14th level, your love of animals fuels you to be ready to care for them wherever you go. When you first gain this feature, at the end of your next long rest you create a handheld container no bigger than three cubic feet. When closed, this container possesses no particularly useful features. However when opened, it serves as access to a special demiplane that will always possess whatever you are in need of to care, treat, or raise beasts, provided you know what it is you are in need of. This demiplane is as large as necessary to fit the job, and has only one entrance and exit through the container it resides within. If the container is punctured, torn, or caved in, or outright destroyed, everything created by the container is as well, and all living creatures, beast or otherwise, are immediately ejected from the container in a random direction (including up). If the container is closed, any creature in the special demiplane is trapped until the container is re-opened.

Additionally, any creature that is friendly to you can understand you regardless of language barrier, and vise versa, and any creature you care for at least twice a week no longer requires an Intelligence(Nature) Check to recall information about them.
