Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Osiris dying before rising again as lord of the dead, Odin hanging himself from Yggdrasil to gain wisdom, Nienna's tears giving birth to the Sun and Moon. Life from death, skill from sacrifice, good from ill: the ideals of the Sacrifice domain. Clerics of the Sacrifice domain believe, like their siblings in the Life domain, in the good that is the flourishing of life. However, like their other siblings in the Grave and Death domains, they also know that if something can bloom, then it can wilt, and that it will do so one day. And yet, as a seed dies and sprouts wheat, so Sacrifice clerics know that what wilts can, with care and effort, bloom again, even fairer than before. Sacrifice clerics fear no wound, for they know that what doesn't kill them will only make them stronger, and that what kills them will only usher them into greater glory. Because of this, Sacrifice clerics are frequently found serving in hospitals, or in areas devastated by war, seeking out what has wilted to bring it back to life stronger than before.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose this domain at 1st level, you gain proficiency with martial weapons.

Channel Divinity: Soothe the Suffering

Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to give succor to those in need.

As an action, present your holy symbol and choose a creature within 30 feet of you. For every hit point that creature is missing, it gains a number of temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. (For example, at level 2, with a proficiency bonus of +2, if you choose a creature that is missing 5 hit points, it will gain 10 temporary hit points.)

Steadfast

Starting at 6th level, you gain the ability to better protect those in need. When you or an ally within 30 feet of you would take damage, if they are below half their hit point maximum, you can use your reaction to give them resistance to that damage. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, and regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Divine Strike

At 8th level, you gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with purifying flames. Once on each of your turns when you hit an enemy with a weapon attack, you can cause the attack to deal an additional 1d8 radiant damage to the target. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8.

Life From Death

Your ability to draw strength from your suffering has become unparalleled. Starting at 17th level, when you would be reduced to 0 hit points or die, you can spend a spell slot of level 7 or higher to regain hit points equal to half your hit point maximum and, if you choose to do so, rise to your feet.
