Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

In Norse mythology, Freyja is the Goddess of love, sex, lust, beauty, sorcery, fertility, gold, war and death. She brought magic to the Aesir and to Odin. Her motivations are her own, but often involve spreading the knowledge of magic or furthering her aims. She is also responsible for claiming half of all warriors slain in battle to go to her realm of Folkvangr.

She chooses appropriate females to become 'volva' (a shaman , seer, or prophetess). These women travel from town to town performing commissioned acts of magic in exchange for room, board, or treasure. Because of the nature of the services they provide, such as divination, prophecy, blessing, or cursing, the volva are simultaneously exalted, sought-after, feared, and in some instances, reviled. Another form of a volva is the veleda, a seeress or prophetess who traditionally holds a highly respected position among tribes, often as the wife of the chieftain. In this role, she foretells the future and offers guidance on the proper course of action.

In reflection of foreseeing and manipulating fate, the volva are accomplished weavers. They must nurture the sources of their raw materials such as wool or plant fibers, then meticulously refine the materials into useful thread or yard using the weavers tool, the distaff, and finally to weave these valuable gifts into textiles from the mundane sack cloth to ships sails which carry forth humanity into all the world to the finest of clothing for the most revered royalty to wear.

Bonus Cantrips

At 1st level you learn the Guidance and Mold Earth cantrips. They count as Warlock cantrips for you, but they don't count against the number of your cantrips known.

Fylgja - Guardian Spirit

Starting at 1st level, as a reaction to a successful attack and before taking the damage, a protective spirit in your choice of totem animal form, appears and protects you. Until the end of your next turn, you gain resistance to all damage, and if a hostile creature ends its turn within 10 feet of you, it takes radiant damage equal to your warlock level + your Charisma modifier.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Hamingja - Good Fortune

Starting at 6th level, when you make an ability check or a saving throw, you can use this feature to add 1d10 to your roll. You can do so after seeing the initial roll but before any of the roll's effects occur. This ability may be given to another if you are powerful enough. You must succeed on a DC 25 Wisdom ability check (+1 bonus per character level) to grant this ability to another. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Seer of past and future

Starting at 10th level, you are granted and have advantage on saving throws against illusion spells even without examination. On a failed save, treat the spell normally.

Veleda - Guide of the warband

Starting at 14th level, by performing a special ritual over the course of five minutes, that includes an oratory describing the future you have seen and the proper course of action to achieve it, you create a cup of enchanted liquor that serves as many creatures as you choose who must each declare their loyalty to you. When consumed, this symbol of both temporal and spiritual power, results in the immediate effect of a greater restoration spell and your choice of either a bless spell or a heroism spell that lasts for 24 hours (no concentration required). If any of the affected creatures act in a manner disloyal to you, this effect ends immediately. Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.

"You will have glorious battle like you have never known!"
