Base Class: Rogue
Time is of the essence, so the saying goes. You however have learned to reach out and grasp the very essence of time. Your control over the realities of the ebb and flow of time allow you to purloin precious seconds from your and your foes' lives and use them to enhance your own abilities.
The Time Between the Ticks
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to routinely steal time from your own future. By manipulating tiny currents in the fabric of the world, you can redirect wasted moments of your own future to make the best use of your limited time.
These stolen instants are represented by your pool of Moments. You have a number of Moments equal to your proficiency bonus, which can be used to fuel various abilities detailed below.
Moments can be used in the following ways:
- You accelerate the flow of time around a creature's wounds. As an action, you can expend one Moment to touch a willing creature and allow them to roll a single hit die. They regain hit points equal to the number rolled + their Constitution modifier.
- When you take the dash action, you can expend one Moment to also gain the benefits of the disengage action.
- Once per turn, if you have already expended your reaction, you can expend one Moment to gain another reaction.
- When you make an ability check with a skill in which you are proficient, you can expend one Moment to gain expertise in that skill for that check only.
You regain all expended Moments when you finish a long rest.
Waste of Time
Also at 3rd level, you gain the ability to harvest precious seconds from another creature's future, as the damage you deal them cuts off some of their potential futures.
When you hit a creature with an attack and deal Sneak Attack damage, you regain one expended Moment. When you do so, that creature's next attack roll or ability check is made with disadvantage.
Bolt Time
At 9th level, you gain the ability to use your stolen time to evade attack with supernatural speed.
Your cunning action can now be used to take the Dodge action.
Time Skip
At 13th level, you can skip across the currents of time to better place yourself to strike at your foes.
When you Ready an Attack action, you can spend two Moments to disappear into your own time stream. While you are inside the time stream, other creatures cannot perceive or interact with you, and you are immune to all damage. As a reaction at any time before the beginning of your next turn, you can reappear and make a melee attack at advantage against any creature within 60ft of the space you left.
If you do not make an attack, you reappear at the beginning of your next turn in the space you left.
Time Heist
At 17th level, you have learned how to reach into a person's future and steal away all of the remaining time that they will now never have.
When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you can regain all your expended Moments, and gain the benefits of a short rest. Once you have used this ability, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest.
