Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of the Furious Fist forsake all types of traditional weaponry to become the true masters of unarmed martial prowess. They learn techniques to become deadly counter-strikers, to push & trip their opponents, & to unleash an unarmed assault truly worthy of being called a flurry of blows.

Fists of Fury

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you become a true master of martial arts. You forsake proficiency with all weapons to hone your skill in unarmed combat, enhancing the damage of your Martial Arts Die at an accelerated rate. It also grants access to the Stop Hit reaction, & the Open Hand Technique.

Stop Hit: As an opponent attempts to make a melee attack against you, you can use Stop Hit as a reaction to strike them first, forcing them to succeed a Dexterity saving throw, or waste their attack.

Open Hand Technique: Whenever you hit a creature with one of the attacks granted by your Flurry of Blows, you can impose one of the following effects on the target:

  • It must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
  • It must make a Strength saving throw. If it fails, you can push it up to 15 feet away from you.
  • It can’t take reactions until the end of your next turn.

Be Like the Nature of Water

Starting at 6th level, you learn to become formless, shapeless… like water. Seemlessly flowing, suddenly crashing, you gain the following benefits.

Leap to Your Feet. When you’re prone, you can stand up by spending 5 feet of movement, rather than half your speed.

Formless Defense. When a creature misses you with a melee attack roll, you can spend 1 ki point as a reaction to cause that attack to hit one creature of your choice, other than the attacker, that you can see within 5 feet of you, or if no other creature is present, you can choose to trip the attacker, leaving them prone, or the missed attack triggers an attack of opportunity for you.

Feint. When you use your Flurry of Blows, you can forego one of the bonus attacks to gain the benefit of either the Dodge or Disengage action.

Wrathful Flurry

When you activate your flurry of blows technique, you can spend 2 ki points to make a total of 3 attacks instead of 2

Dim Mak

At 17th level, you gain the ability to set up lethal vibrations in someone’s body. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 3 ki points to start these imperceptible vibrations, which last for a number of days equal to your monk level. The vibrations are harmless unless you use your action to end them. To do so, you and the target must be on the same plane of existence. When you use this action, the creature must make a Constitution saving throw. If it fails, it is reduced to 0 hit points. If it succeeds, it takes 10d10 necrotic damage.

You can have only one creature under the effect of this feature at a time. You can choose to end the vibrations harmlessly without using an action.
