Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarians who follow the Path of Hatred have learned the profane art of manifesting a corporeal embodiment of their rage, known as a hateful spirit.
Hateful Spirit
Beginning when you choose this subclass at 3rd level, whenever you enter your rage, you summon the primal spirit of your own rage, which manifests in an unoccupied space you can see within 30 feet of you. This spirit appears as a red spectral copy of yourself that lasts until it is reduced to 0 hit points or your rage ends. The spirit is friendly to you and your companions and obeys your mental commands. See this creature’s game statistics in the Hateful Spirit stat block, which uses your proficiency bonus (PB) in several places.
In combat, the spirit shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action, which can be the same bonus action used to enter your rage. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action.

Shared Hatred
At 3rd level, your Hateful Spirit shares in your rage enough to fuel it when you otherwise couldn't. If you command your Hateful Spirit to attack, that counts as you making an attack for the purposes of maintaining your rage.
Mark of Ire
Starting at 6th level, the first time you hit a creature with an attack on your turn, you brand that creature's soul with your anger. Until the start of your next turn, your Hateful Spirit gains advantage on attack rolls against that creature.
Raging Bond
When you reach 10th level in this class, the bond between you and your Hateful Spirit grows stronger, granting it certain benefits:
- It shares your Brutal Critical feature from the Barbarian Class.
- It gains advantage on Strength saving throws and ability checks.
- It adds your Rage Damage to the damage rolls of its Wrathful Strike.
Frenzied Spirit
At 14th level, your Hateful Spirit goes into a frenzy whenever you rage. Whenever you command to attack, it can make two attacks instead of one.
