Base Class: Druid
Druids who are members of the Circle of the Storm have strong ties with weather. They channel the power contained within storm clouds to use it to power their attacks and defenses. Circle of the Storm Druids seek to protect the skies, and their order gathers in the face of storms, seeking signs of guidance and advisory from the tempest. These druids are aware that nothing is permanent, and times are capable of changing swiftly, like the wind and weather.
Gift of the Dark Skies
When you take this circle at 2nd level, you learn the shocking grasp cantrip. Additionally, when you get spring into combat, the lightning coursing through your body amplifies. When you roll initiative, gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your Druid level.
Electric Rebuff
Starting at 2nd level, you have learned to repel attackers using the lightning that courses through your veins. When an attacker hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to deal lightning or thunder damage (your choice) equal to half of the damage dealt to you back to the attacker.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of 1), and regain all expended uses after completing a long rest.
Circle Spells
Your connection to the storm infuses you with the ability to cast certain spells. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to circle spells.
Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
