Base Class: Fighter

Warriors of the Fallen have formed close bonds with others from fighting side by side with them in combat. This brotherly bond is so strong that it persists even after death.

The spirits of a group of your friends that died did not pass on to an afterlife - they were bonded too strongly with you. You can see them wherever you go, but others cannot.

Eternal Brothers in Arms

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you can use your eternal bond to call upon your fallen friends to assist you. When you gain this feature at 3rd level, you choose six people you knew and fought with that have died. You determine basic details about them, including name, race, and any other details that fit your backstory. You also choose one skill for them to be proficient in, one additional language for them to know, one specific weapon for them to be proficient in, and one specific armor for them to be proficient in. Your choices do not need to be the same for all six spirits, but they can be if it you so choose. You cannot change these later.

As a bonus action, the spirits of your fallen comrades manifest at points of your choice within 60 feet of you. The number of spirits summoned is equal to your proficiency bonus, and you choose which of the six spirits of your comrades appear. When they appear, they use the guard statistics, but instead use the armor and weapon they are proficient in. If they are proficient in a weapon with the ammunition property, they manifest with 10 pieces of ammunition. If they are proficient in a weapon with the thrown property, they manifest with 5 of the weapon. They are also instead proficient in the skill you choose at 3rd level, and know common and the additional language you choose.

The spirits remain for 1 minute, or until they drop to 0 hit points, at which point they disappear along with all of their equipment. In combat, the spirits roll initiative and share a turn, acting independently of you and requiring no commands, though you may give them if you wish. Once you use this bonus action, you cannot use it again until you complete a Short or Long Rest.

Medium of Knowledge

Starting at 3rd level, your spirit comrades can assist you in certain tasks. Whenever you make a skill check that one of your spirits is proficient in, you can have the spirit make the check alongside you, and use the higher roll. You can do this a number of times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus.

Additionally, you know all the languages your spirit comrades know, though it takes you twice as long to communicate in those languages due to the time it takes for your spirit comrades to translate for you.

Last Stand

At 7th level, your spirits never leave your side. While you are incapacitated, if you haven't used Eternal Brothers in Arms since your last Short or Long Rest, you can choose to use the feature regardless. This can be done even if you are knocked unconscious, paralyzed, etc.

Guarding Sanctuary

Starting at 10th level, your spirits keep an eye on your surroundings while you rest, using their passive perception to detect threats. If they wish, they can awaken you at any moment.

Also, your passive perception, investigation, and insight scores cannot be lower than any of your spirit's respective passive scores.

Unbreakable Will

At 15th level, the presence of your spirit comrades has fortified your mental resolve. You have advantage on checks made to resist being frightened or charmed.

The Strongest Bond

By 18th level, your experience continuing to fight alongside your fallen friends strengthens your bond with them even further. Your spirit comrades now last 10 minutes instead of 1 when you summon them using the Eternal Brothers in Arms feature. Their weapons attacks are also considered magical in terms of overcoming resistances, and they gain a flying speed of 40 ft.
