Monk
Base Class: Monk

Most monks are on a quest for spiritual knowledge as an important part of their studies- that's not the case for brawlers.  These monks are only concerned about fighting and proving their superiority, which not only makes them tougher but also more versatile and unpredictable.

Unorthodox Assault

You have mastered the ways of the tavern and the street, and honed your craft to include assaults from unpredictable sources, and your very presence exudes an aura of competence and lethality.

Starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Improvised Weapons and Intimidation. Improvised weapons count as monk weapons for you, and you can use a Bonus Action to Grapple, Shove, or make an improvised weapon attack as long as you take the Attack action on your turn. When you make an Athletics check using this bonus action you can expend 1 ki point to roll your martial arts dice and add it to the total after seeing it, but before determining the result.

Additionally you may use your Wisdom modifier instead of your Charisma modifier when making an Intimidation check.

You Call That A Punch?

Starting at 6th level, when you are hit by a melee attack, you can use your reaction to spend 1 or more ki points. After damage is determined (including any resistances you might have), roll a number of martial arts dice equal to the ki points spent. Reduce the damage suffered by that amount. If you reduce the damage to 0 you can use the same reaction to make a single Unarmed Strike or Improvised Weapon attack against the attacking creature.

Unorthodox Syle

Starting at 11th level, your unorthodox style has colored your entire way of being. You are adept at using straightforward, sometimes brutal solutions to life's problems. When you make an ability check that you are not proficient with, you can roll your martial arts die and add it to that check. On a failure, you fall prone and take the amount rolled as damage.

This ability can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

I Didn't Hear No Bell

At 17th level you become completely unstoppable.

When you are dropped to 0 hit points, you can roll your martial arts die and recover that many hitpoints and lose up to that many ki points.
