Base Class: Bard

Whether it is a decadent meal made by a chef in the royal kitchens or a bowl of stew and a loaf of bread made by a simple innkeeper, food has a way of bringing everyone together.  a College of Culinary Arts bard is one that focuses on bringing everyone around and lifting them up with a nice warm meal. Some members might be snobbish and only go for the most lavish of ingredients whereas some members take a sense of pride in producing meals made from limited resources. No matter the differences all members have the same goal in mind and that is to make the best food possible and bring the most joy to those who eat their food.  

Tools and Utensils

Starting at 3 level. You gain proficiency with cook utensils and brewer's supplies.  

Most Important Meal of the Day.

Starting at 3 level, during a long rest you can make a number of meals equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). A creature can spend 10 minutes to eat one of these meals. If a creature eats one of your meals, they gain the following benefits depending on the flavor of the meal. You can only make one flavor at a time.  A creature can only benefit from one meal at a time.

Bitter: you gain advantage on Strength saves. You gain +1 to attack and damage rolls with weapons that use strength, this becomes a +2 at 11 level. You gain these benefits for the next 8 hours.

Sweet: you gain advantage on Dexterity saves.  You gain +1 to attack and damage rolls with weapons that use dexterity this becomes a +2 at 11 level. You gain these benefits for the next 8 hours.

Umami: you gain advantage on Constitution saves. You gain temporary hit points equal to one roll of your Bardic Inspiration die. Starting at 11 level the number of temporary hit points you gain become equal to one roll of your Bardic Inspiration die + your brad level.  You gain these benefits for the next 8 hours.

Sour: you gain advantage on Intelligence saves. you can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check you make that use Intelligence and that you aren’t already proficient in. Starting at 11 level you can add 1d4 to any ability checks you make that use Intelligence.  You gain these benefits for the next 8 hours.

Salty: you gain advantage on Wisdom saves. you can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check you make that Wisdom and that you aren’t already proficient in. Starting at 11 level you can add 1d4 to any ability checks you make that use Wisdom. You gain these benefits for the next 8 hours.

Spicy: you gain advantage on Charisma saves.  you can add half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, to any ability check you make that Charisma and that you aren’t already proficient in. Starting at 11 level you can add 1d4 to any ability checks you make that use Charisma. You gain these benefits for the next 8 hours

Master of Food Preparation

Beginning at 6 level you become a master at preparing food safely and making sure the foods you come across on your journey is safe for you and your companions to eat. you gain the following benefits.

  • You can cast Purify food and Drink at will, without expending a spell slot.
  • Create Food and Water is added to your spells known. Create Food and Water counts as a bard spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of bard spells you know. When you cast Create Food and Water you create twice as much food and water and it last for 48 hours instead of 24. In addition, you can make the food flavorful instead of being bland.

Feed All Kinds

At 14level, you become an expert at making food. When you use your “Most Important Meal of the Day” feature you can now make a number of meals equal to double your Charisma modifier (minimum 2). You can also make two different flavors. You decide the amount of each flavor you make. A meal can only be one flavor. 

Master of Feasts

 At 14 level, Feasts and celebrations become your bread and butter.  You throw the best parties and make special occasions very rememberable. Heroes’ Feast is added to your spells known and counts as a bard spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of bard spells you know. You can expend two uses of your Bardic Inspiration die to Cast Heroes’ Feast without expending a spell slot.
