Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Deep inside you is something not of this world. A dark fire that burns with all the intensity of hell itself. It calls to be let out, to be unchained. But you've come to control it, mostly.

You are an Oni that can enter a battle rage so ferocious that it causes others to easily mistake you for a horrid devil. The more you fight and kill, the deeper the rage gets, and the more your mortal form is peeled away, till eventually you are no longer mortal, but cannot be considered a fiend.

Whether it was forced upon you as a curse, or your bloodline can be traced back to some hellish abomination. You don't hide that dark flame inside you as if it were something shameful. No, you use it as a weapon to kill your enemies and leave the survivors scarred with the memory of fighting a monster face to face.

Devil's Fury

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you can channel fiendish fury into your weapon strikes. While you’re raging, your weapon burns with devilish energy and every attack you make deals extra damage equal to 1d6 + half your barbarian level. The extra damage is necrotic.

Warrior of the Damned

At 3rd level, your soul is marked for endless battle. If a spell, such as raise dead, has the sole effect of restoring you to life (but not undeath), the caster doesn’t need material components to cast the spell on you.

Bloodthirst

Beginning at 6th level, you can go into a bloodthirst when you rage. If you do so, for the duration of your rage you can make a single melee weapon attack as a bonus action on each of your turns after this one. When your rage ends, you suffer one level of exhaustion.

True Form Rage

Starting at level 10, the dark fire deep inside you causes your mortal form to slowly fall apart, revealing what you truly are.

As you take an increasing amount of damage, your mortal form peels away and you gain a benefit as shown on the Oni Form Table in accordance with the amount of damage you have taken. You gain the first benefit of this table when you first enter your rage.

These benefits last as long as you are raging and are lost when your rage ends. When you gain the Persistent Rage feature, your mortal form slowly reforms, and you lose all but the first benefit if you do not deal or take damage within an hour of gaining them.

Rage Beyond Death

Beginning at 14th level, the divine power that fuels your rage allows you to shrug off fatal blows.

While you’re raging, having 0 hit points doesn’t knock you unconscious. You still must make death saving throws, and you suffer the normal effects of taking damage while at 0 hit points. However, if you would die due to failing death saving throws, you don’t die until your rage ends, and you die then only if you still have 0 hit points.
