Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids who choose this path must belong to a gold dragon tribe. They are taught the language and culture of the gold dragons as well as their secret knowledge of the weave. The druid and the dragon are life-long companions, bound by a ritual of souls recognizing each other and choosing to walk their paths together.

Circle Spells

2nd-level Circle of the Gold Dragon feature

Your training with gold dragons grants you access to certain spells.

At 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of the Gold Dragon Spells table. Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you. You also gain a bonus cantrip.

Gold Dragon Companion

2nd-Level Gold Dragon Druid Feature

Humanoid members of draconic tribes create a life-long bond with a draconic companion during a ritual known as The Calling. The dragon who answers your Call imbues you with their lifeforce, linking your souls forever. It is a recognition of two souls who are meant to complement each other in every way. For druids among the tribes, this means being taught the traditions of draconic magic and accessing special abilities through their bond with their companion. You also learn to speak, read, and write Draconic.

The gold dragon wyrmling is friendly to you and your companions, and it obeys your commands. As an action, you can call your dragon companion to you. It appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within 30 feet of you. (Add the creature in your Extras section as a mount)

In combat, the dragon shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It can move and use its reaction on its own, but the only action it takes on its turn is the Dodge action, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to take another action. That action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the dragon can take any action of its choice, not just Dodge.

Draconic Bond: One Body

2nd-level Circle of the Gold Dragon feature

As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to activate the bond with your companion and gain a draconic aspect, rather than transforming into a beast.

The form lasts the same amount of time granted your Wild Shape for your Druid level. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), are incapacitated, die, or use this feature again.
