Base Class: Ranger
Tide Walker rangers of Aurelia's coastal regions carry the might of the ocean within them. They protect its shores, and in return She blesses them with supernatural aquatic abilities.
Tidal Boon
At third level, your relationship to the ocean's tides manifests in your unique fighting style, giving you distinct but powerful boons in combat. When you roll initiative, you may also flip a coin. The boon you gain varies, depending on the result. You may use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest.
High Tide
If the result of the coin flip is heads, you gain +1 to your spell attack rolls and to your spell save DC.
Low Tide
If the result of the coin flip is tails, you gain +1 to your weapon attacks and to your armor class.
Oceanic Magic
You learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Tide Walker Spells table. Each spell counts as a Ranger spell for you, but doesn't count against the number of Ranger spells you know.
Tide Walker Spells
| Ranger Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3rd | create or destroy water |
| 5th | gust of wind |
| 9th | tidal wave |
| 13th | watery sphere |
| 17th | maelstrom |
Might of the Waves
When you hit a creature with a spell during High Tide, or hit a creature with a weapon attack during Low Tide, you may force the creature to move 5 feet to an unoccupied space of your choice. You may also move an ally, if the creature is willing.
At 15th level, this distance is increased to 10 feet and can effect multiple creatures if you hit them on the same turn.
Aquatic Adept
At 7th level, you become so adept at underwater combat that you gain a swim speed equal to your walking speed, no longer need to breathe underwater, and your attacks are no longer at disadvantage due to difficult terrain.
The Oncoming Storm
At 11th level, your Tidal Boon bonus increases to +2 for High Tide and Low Tide. In addition, you may cast Call Lightning once per long rest without expending a spell slot.
Torrential Avatar
At 15th level, your Tidal Boon increases to +3. In addition, you may reroll a number of damage dice equal to your proficiency modifier for spells during High Tide, and weapon attacks during Low Tide.
