Base Class: Bard
The College of Discord houses bards that are drawn to raucous and aggressive music beloved by small but passionate groups of listeners. Masters in the magical techniques of amplification, these loud musicians always draw attention. No stranger to deadly critics, those of the College of Discord come prepared to defend themselves, their allies, and their music with savage intensity.
Bonus Proficiencies
You gain proficiency with medium and heavy armor and you learn to speak, read, and write Abyssal.
Arcane Amplification
You learn to amplify the magic you channel through your musical instrument. You learn the Thunderclap cantrip, which doesn't count against the number of bard cantrips you know. For you, it has a range of 10 feet when you cast it.
In addition, whenever you cast a bard spell using a musical instrument as a spellcasting focus and that spell effects an area centered on you or from originating from you or a space that you occupy, you can double the range of its area of effect.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Brutal Musician
Your musical style begins to take an uncommonly dark turn. You gain the ability to magically distort and alter the sound of your instrument and your voice to your tastes.
In addition, as a bonus action, you can magically, reinforce your instrument to ready it to ready it for combat. For the next minute, your instrument becomes a magical one-handed melee weapon you're proficient with. You can use your Charisma modifier for attack rolls made with this weapon and it deals 1d8 + your Charisma modifier bludgeoning damage on a hit.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once). You regain any expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
Savage Inspiration
While your Brutal Musician feature is active, you can make a single melee weapon attack with your musical instrument as a part of using your Bardic Inspiration feature.
Ballad of Rage
You learn to play a dark ballad filled with enraging magic. As an action, you begin your Ballad of Rage, which lasts for one minute or until you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell). Choose a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) that can hear you within 60 feet of you. If the target is unwilling, it can make a Wisdom saving throw against your Bard spell save DC. On a success, this feature has no effect. On a failure, the target is affected in the following ways until this feature ends.
- They have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
- When they make a weapon attack, that attack has advantage and they gain a +2 to the damage roll.
- They have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- They can't cast or concentrate on spells.
Once you use this feature, you cannot do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
