Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Sometimes a barbarian is born with troll blood running through their veins, sometimes an accident on the battlefield leads to the vile fluid swapping with that of a young barbarian for an extended period, and sometimes a dark ritual seeks to accomplish the same effect - To empower a barbarian with the blood of a troll. Though the transformation is not necessarily disfiguring, the effect during a barbarian's rage is frighteningly effective, but not without cost. Trolls are known for their constant insatiable hunger, and the Trollblooded barbarian must gorge frequently to maintain the power of the blood coursing through their veins.

Regeneration

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, you manifest the potent healing of trolls and regain hit points equal to your Barbarian Rage Damage at the start of each of your turns while raging. Additionally, when you finish a Short Rest you regain all of your Barbarian Hit Dice, but only if you consume a large meal, equivalent to a full days rations during the rest.

Taste for Blood

Beginning at 6th level, the terrible hunger which drives you begins to affect your senses. Particularly when it comes to blood, your senses of smell and taste allow you to track as ably as the keenest of hounds. You have advantage on all Perception, Insight or Investigation checks involving taste or smell (catching a whiff of approaching danger on a breeze, smelling fear in a liar's sweat or detecting poison in food). Once per day, you can use your senses to replicate the effect of Locate Animals or Plants without expending a spell slot. Alternatively, with a sample of a creature's blood, you replicate the effects of Locate Creature without expending a spell slot. Because you are not actually using magic to track your quarry divination-blocking spells like Nondetection and Guards & Wards offer no protection against this form of tracking.

Stand Up and Grin

Beginning at 10th level, you can direct your regenerative healing and are extraordinarily hard to put down. As a reaction to taking any damage which is not fire or acid damage, you can expend a hit die (without constitution bonus) to immediately heal yourself. If you are reduced to 0 hit points, you need only 1 successful death saving throw to stabilize, and a second successful save will restore a number of hit points equal to your barbarian level.

If either ability is used in combat, immediately after combat ends you must consume a large meal equivalent to a day's rations or suffer two levels of exhaustion. It is not uncommon for an impatient Trollblooded barbarian to begin eating raw flesh from defeated foes if other suitable food is not available.

Monstrous Rage

Beginning at 14th level, your infusion of troll blood has caused you to grow, physically, and when your rage awakens the latent power in your blood, your body changes further. You grow at least half a foot taller (6d6 inches) though your weight may or may not change depending on the degree of nourishment you regularly consume (DMs discretion). When raging If you are smaller than Large, you become Large, along with anything you are wearing. If you lack the room to become Large, your size doesn't change. While enlarged by your rage, your reach extends by five feet, your weapon attacks deal one extra damage die (two extra on a critical hit) and your Strength and Constitution scores are increased by an amount equal to your Barbarian Rage Damage bonus.
