Base Class: Paladin
The ancient Oath of The Night Sky is an oath sworn by Paladins with an affinity for the otherworldly. It grants those who take this oath some power of the cosmos, allowing for spacial and gravitational manipulation. Common deities for the Oath of the Night Sky are Selune, Moon Goddess, and Celestian, the Far Wanderer.
Oath Spells
You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed in the Oath of the Night Sky Spells table. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.
Oath of the Night Sky Spells
| Paladin Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3rd | Sleep, Unseen Servant |
| 5th | Moonbeam, Hold Person |
| 9th | Melf's Minute Meteors, Tiny Hut |
| 13th | Dimension Door, Sickening Radiance |
| 17th | Hold Monster, Animate Objects |
Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Aegis of Andromeda. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to warp the space between you and your allies, surrounding yourselves with tiny blue-green stars and galaxies. Select any number of creatures including yourself that you can see within a 30ft radius of you to gain AC score equal to your Proficiency Bonus. This bonus AC lasts until the creature is hit by an attack that deals more damage than double the bonus AC granted.
Gravimanus of Cirsinus. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to intensify or reduce gravity in your favor. Select a number of creatures equal to half your Paladin level within a 30 foot radius. Unwilling creatures must make a constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature may be shifted 10ft in any direction of your choosing and forced prone, or lifted 10ft into the air and held. It takes 2d8 force damage per turn until it succeeds on its saving throw. / Alternatively, willing creatures are less affected by gravity for 10 minutes, allowing 15ft of flight per turn, and gain advantage on dexterity checks.
Resonant Moonbeam
Starting at 7th level, the light of the moon bares brighter upon you, increasing the effectiveness of your moonbeam spell.
As an action, you may cast Moonbeam using any level spell slot. Any time you move during your turn, you may recenter Moonbeam on yourself. When the spell ends, regain the spell slot spent on Moonbeam as a spell slot or Channel Divinity slot, but only once per long rest.
Radius of Moonbeam is increased by 5ft, and increases every 5 levels. (15ft at level 12, and 20ft at level 17.)
Mayall's Syphoning
Starting at 15th level, an outside force will restore your vitality by weightlessly syphoning viscera into your wounds with a warm red glow.
By using your reaction, you regain hit points equal to 1d6 + your Paladin Level halved upon landing an attack if you have taken damage in the last round. Allies within 10ft are healed for the same amount and may trigger this effect on their own attacks.
At level 18, use 2d6 and extend radius to 30ft.
Emissary of The Night Sky
At 20th level, you become an avatar of the moon and stars, which gives you three benefits:
- Whenever a creature hits you with an attack, it takes radiant damage equal to half the damage you take from the attack.
- You may become weightless at will, floating above the ground and have a flying speed equal to your movement speed +5 feet. You can fly this way for 4 hours before taking a long rest.
- Hostile creatures affected by your Channel Divinity actions or spell are blinded by starlight for one turn.

Posted Aug 7, 2022Quick update to fix traits. Pretty happy with this, notes below. Most actions and traits should be good up until level 19.
Spell list is mostly set, only really unsure about Tiny Hut, Animate Objects, and Dimension Door. The Unseen Servant and both Holds fit as gravity spells, while Sleep, Moonbeam, and Meteor fit as more spacey / moon spells.
Aegis now uses proficiency and is dispelled when taking damage equal twice the bonus AC gained.
Gravimanus creature selection amount is now equal to Paladin level instead of a formula. I also might reword to explain that you cannot do both at the same time, either force enemies to move / take damage, or buff yourself and friends with advantage on Dex (or maybe Strength. Both??) as a utility. (Also need to remove section on re-orienting out of prone, as it is a given.)
Resonating Moonbeam got a name change and no longer deals extra damage, instead increasing the range at certain levels and allowing you to regain the slot once per day as the spent spell slot, or as a Channel Divinity use. You can still recenter it on yourself when you move, though.
Mayall's Syphoning allows you and your allies to use your reaction to heal yourself if you have been damaged in the last round. Its healing might be too much but it'll be a bit before I can properly test it. I also need to fix the Reaction in the actions list, as it does not scale properly.
Emissary of The Night Sky will definitely change, I just don't know what it's going to look like yet. Flight is cool, and most Oaths get big buffs to defence, just not sure what direction to take it.
