Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The ancient history of dragons and their influence on the realms has long been known to almost all mortal denizens. What has been nearly forgotten are the warriors who sought to emulate the dragon's power and grace in their fighting style. Clad in shining armor in reverence to the dragons, the dragoons wielded long reaching weapons as they rode into battle atop drakes and wyverns. Though only a few remain, those who are trained in the art of the dragon become unpredictable and unstoppable combatants.

Dragoon's Flight

When choosing this archetype at 3rd level, you have learned to fight by being mobile as a dragon would with its flight. As a bonus action, you leap 10 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see. This jump is as high as your running high jump when determining if you are able to clear objects that would obstruct your path and does not cost movement.

After using this feature, your next melee weapon attack that hits a creature deals an additional 1d6 damage.

Draconic Training

Also at 3rd level, the style of fighting has impressed upon you the history of its draconic roots. You learn Draconic and gain proficiency in your choice of Acrobatics or Athletics.

Acrobatics

You gain proficiency in acrobatics.

Athletics

You gain proficiency in athletics.

Graceful Movement

At 7th level, your mimicry of a dragon's flight distracts nearby opponents. Your jump from using your Dragoon's Flight doesn't provoke opportunity attacks, and your standing long and high jumps are treated as if you had moved 10 feet before making the jump.

Improved Dragoon's Flight

When reaching 10th level, you have improved your ability to mimic a dragon's flight. When you use your bonus action to leap, its distance is increased to 15 feet. The first melee weapon attack you make after using this feature has an increased reach of 5 feet.

At 18th level, the jump distance increases to 20 feet and you can make one melee weapon attack against a creature in range as part of the bonus action.

Claws of the Dragon

At 15th level, when fighting at a distance you are able to leverage the force behind your weapons. When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack that is at least 10 feet away from you, add an additional weapon damage die to the damage roll.

You can use this feature twice, and only once per turn. You regain expended uses after finishing a short or long rest.

Improved Dragoon's Flight

At 18th level, the jump distance increases to 20 feet and you can make one melee weapon attack against a creature in range as part of the bonus action.
