Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Your magic stems from the rage within your soul. This ability to draw on your inner rage and manifest it as magic was brought on from a source of great rage. Perhaps you learned it from your family line that has practiced Rage magic for generations. Maybe you or a distant relative are descended from a War domain deity, or were blessed with this power by one. Or maybe you experienced a truly traumatic event in your life that caused this power to be unlocked within your soul. No matter how this magic came to be inside of you, you now have the power to wield your rage to defend the helpless, to protect or avenge a loved one, or to simply enjoy the destruction your magic can cause.

Calm Caster

1st-level Rage Soul Feature

Due to your magic coming from your channeled rage, your sorcerous ability is reduced during your normal emotional state.

When you choose this Sorcerous Origin, your known spells and spell slots are reduced during normal play (outside of your Rage). You use the normal Sorcerer's table for everything, except your known spells and spell slots. For those two, you will use the level from the Sorcerer's table that corresponds to your proficiency bonus added to your sorcerer level then dividing that by two (rounded down). Cantrips known is still based off of your normal Sorcerer level.

Rage

1st-level Rage Soul Feature

Starting at 1st level, you can summon forth your inner rage to better channel your innate magic, entering into a Rage as a bonus action.

While you are Raging, you gain the following benefits while you're not wearing armor or wielding a shield.

  • You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).
  • You have Advantage on maintaining concentration of your spells when you take damage.
  • Your spells known and spell slots now come from the Sorcerer table, based on using your Sorcerer level plus half your proficiency bonus (rounded up). (Sorcerer level 18 and above, see note at the end)
  • These additional known spells must be from the Sorcerer's spell list and be a level of which you have a spell slot (within your Rage), but can be changed each time you enter your Rage. Your normal known spells do not change.

Your Rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious, don armor or a shield, or if your turn ends and you haven't used the Cast a Spell action last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your Rage on your turn as a bonus action.

When your Rage ends and your spell slots reduced to normal, the unexpended slots are removed first.

You can use this feature up to a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

You can also choose to use 2 Sorcery Points to enter your Rage when all uses have been expended.

*Note* Since a level 18 Rage Soul Sorcerer would use spells known and spell slots above the normal Sorcerer table, the the additional spells known and spell slots above that is up to the DM's discretion. See below for a possible example.

    Spell Slots
