Monk
Base Class: Monk

The natural way of the world, and how creatures of all kinds survive in its harsh wilds, is the model in which monks who follow this path channel their ki. Living in the wilderness, they connect with nature differently than a druid may. Instead of connecting and living in harmony with nature, the monk finds the primal urges within themselves, and harnesses it to have their body become nature incarnate.

These monks find themselves usually wandering the forests or wild places of the world to embody the natural spirit of the animals around them. By focusing their ki on that connection to nature, they are able to unleash a flurry of primal strikes against their foes.

Lunging Strike

When choosing this monastic tradition at 3rd level, you can harness the predatory nature you have witnessed in the wild to strike at distant foes. Whenever you make an unarmed strike, you may change it to a lunging strike. Each lunging strike after the first on a turn requires you to spend 1 ki point.

Lunging Strike. Choose a creature that you can see within 15 feet. You move the shortest amount of distance to an unoccupied space next to your target and make an unarmed strike against that creature. This movement doesn't use your normal movement speed and isn't affected by difficult terrain or vertical surfaces.

Beast Within

At 6th level, you have connected to an inner primal energy with your ki that you allows you to communicate with beasts. As an action, you can spend 1 ki point to cast Animal Friendship or Speak with Animals, or 2 ki points to cast Animal Messenger or Enhance Ability without providing material components.

In addition, when making an unarmed strike, you may choose to deal bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage.

Embodiment of Nature

At 11th level, you have connected your inner nature to that of the outside world. Moving through non-magical difficult terrain costs you no extra movement. While lightly obscured in a natural environment, you have advantage on Stealth (Dexterity) checks.

Also, you are able to spend 5 ki points to cast Commune with Nature without providing material components.

Primal Ferocity

At 17th level, you are able to quickly react to incoming attacks. As a reaction to being damaged by a melee or ranged attack, you can use one of the following actions:

Retaliatory Lunge. If the creature is within 15 feet, you make a Lunging Strike against it. You can spend 1 ki point to increase the range to 30 feet for both the distance of the reaction and range of lunging strike.

Whirling Retaliation. If the creature is in melee range, you may make one unarmed strike against each hostile creature within 5 feet of you.
