Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Some folks seem to be destined for good fortune. It seems as though an aura of luck surrounds them as they waltz down the street narrowly avoiding a horse drawn cart on their way to pay for the very last apple tart with a silver piece they found in their coat pocket. Weather inherited or god granted it is undeniable that some people's chips will simply come up more often than most.

Paladins who take the Oath of Fortune have sworn to share their good luck with those less fortunate than them, and that's pretty much everyone. Oath of Fortune Paladins share their preternatural prosperity through focus, prayer, or by... luck. Generosity and equity are the core principles of the Oath of Fortune for there is no greater deed than to share their wealth and prosperity with others.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Bestow Blessings. As an action, you can cast bless at 1st level without expending a spell slot, using your Channel Divinity. When you cast bless in this way, it does not require concentration and lasts for the duration.

You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action. If you fall unconscious, the spell ends.

Gambler's Fortune. As an action, you attempt to manifest your luck into an immediate material benefit, using your Channel Divinity. Roll 2d6 and use the result and the list below to determine the benefit.

  • Both 1, Make a Charisma (DC 14) saving throw. On a fail you fall under the effects of the bane spell for the next hour or until you complete a short or long rest.
  • Both 6, Gain the effects of the lucky feat for the next 8 hours or until you complete a long rest. If you already have the lucky feat, instead refill up to 3 spent luck points.
  • Both 2,3,4, or 5, Gain advantage on the next attack, saving throw, or ability check you make in the next hour.
  • Both odd/even (nonmatching), Gain the effect of the guidance spell for the next minute.
  • Any other result, No effect
