Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Your’s is not the rage of a mortal being, but a dark communion with the demonic forces of destruction. Channeled through a dread relic, you become somewhat possessed on the battlefield, your features growing more bestial and your eyes filling with supernatural hatred. While you maintain control of this form for now, who can say how long you can hold out against Hell?

Demonic Possession

At 3rd level, you discover a dread relic that allows you to connect to demons of rage and malice. Choose one of the following items to be your dread relic.

The dread relic itself is not a magic item. It functions similarly to a focus for spellcasters, allowing you to contact your demon(s) and vice versa.

Consult your Dungeon Master for how you acquired this item: did you pick it up on your last quest, awake from a nightmare to find it beside you, or have you carried it all along, obvious to its power until now?

The Arm Ring

While raging, you have resistance to all damage except psychic damage.

The Circlet

While you're raging, your friends have advantage on melee attack rolls against any creature within 5 feet of you that is hostile to you.

The Medallion

While you're raging and aren't wearing heavy armor, other creatures have disadvantage on opportunity attack rolls against you, and you can use the Dash action as a bonus action on your turn.

Fiendish Intuition

Your connection to your rage demon gives you a sixth sense. At 3rd level when you adopt this path, you gain the ability to cast the Augury spell, but only as a ritual. The demon or demons bound to you are the otherworldly entity that you contact and you use your dread relic in place of any material components.

Additionally, you can speak, read, and write Abyssal, even if you can’t otherwise read or write.

Optional. When you use this ability, your Dungeon Master rolls a d20. On a 1, the demons are lying to you: the answer that they give you is opposite what they would otherwise say.

Aspect of the Beast

At 6th level, you have adopted aspects of the demon world, not needing your dread relic to access them. Choose one of the following:

Demonic Mastery

You gain proficiency in two skills from the following list: Athletics, Acrobatics, Stealth, and Survival.

Demonic Sight

You can see up to 1 mile away with no difficulty, able to discern even fine details as though looking at something no more than 100 feet away from you. Additionally, dim light doesn't impose disadvantage on your Wisdom (Perception) checks.

Demonic Strength

Your carrying capacity (including maximum load and maximum lift) is doubled, and you have advantage on Strength checks made to push, pull, lift, or break objects.

Diabolic Contact

At 10th level, you can cast the Contact Other Plane spell, but only as a ritual. When you do so, you mentally contact the demon or demons that you are bound to.

Optional. When you use this ability, your Dungeon Master rolls a d20 for each question asked. On a 1, the demons are lying to you: the answer that they give you is opposite what they would otherwise say.

Greater Possession

At 14th level, you gain a a second dread relic or an enhancement to your existing one. Choose one of the following options:

The Arm Ring

While you're raging, any creature within 5 feet of you that's hostile to you has disadvantage on attack rolls against targets other than you or another character with this feature. An enemy is immune to this effect if it can't see or hear you or if it can't be frightened. If you already have a dread relic that is an arm ring, you gain a matching arm ring for your other arm.

The Circlet

While you're raging, if you move at least 20 feet in a straight line toward a Large or smaller target right before making a melee weapon attack against it, you can use a bonus action to make an additional melee weapon attack against it. If you already have a dread relic that is a circlet, your existing circlet becomes larger or otherwise enhanced.

The Medallion

While raging, you have a flying speed equal to your current walking speed. This benefit works only in short bursts; you fall if you end your turn in the air and nothing else is holding you aloft. If you already have a dread relic that is a medallion, your existing medallion becomes larger or otherwise enhanced.
