Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

"By claw and scale, by maw and tail, grant me thy winged might, my Master of the Starry Night!"

Deep in the fathomless void between worlds, rests a creature of unknowable age and incomparable might. It is not of this world or any other, and drifts eternal in the moment between thought and memory. It is a Watcher, a Viewer, endlessly fascinated by the antics of mortals, their passions and sorrows, joys and pains.

To chosen mortals who earn its eye, it proffers a bargain, a Pact. An imbuement of power, control over their own lives, in exchange for a simple task; to live life to the fullest. To seek out great trials, to set and overcome goals, to hunt new experiences and emotional fulfillment, that the Void Dragon may enjoy vicariously through its follower. Those who can endure the trials this demand places upon them and emerge victorious may claim eternal life upon the mortal planes as champions of the Void Dragon.

Spellcasting Modifier: Intelligence

Unlike other Warlocks, your Spellcasting Modifier is Intelligence. All of your Warlock spells and abilities use Intelligence instead of Charisma, and you gain proficiency with Intelligence saving throws instead of Charisma saving throws.

Expanded Spell List

The Void Dragon lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Void Dragon Expanded Spells

Spell Level Spells
1st Shield, Inflict Wounds
2nd Arcanist's Magic Aura, Dragon's Breath*
3rd Blink, Pulse Wave*
4th Storm Sphere*, Gravity Sinkhole*
5th Banishing Smite*, Steel Wind Strike*

Additionally, Void Dragon warlocks may add the following spells to those available for their Mystic Arcanum: Gravity Fissure* [6th level], Reality Break* [8th level], and Ravenous Void* [9th level].

*You'll need to look these up because I cannot include them and publish this subclass.

Claw and Scale

At 1st level, you gain an understanding of certain weapons, granting proficiency with longswords, glaives, and rapiers. You may use any such weapon as a spellcasting focus. When making a melee spell attack while wielding such a weapon, you may add the weapon damage plus your Intelligence modifier to the damage. Additionally, while wielding a longsword with two hands, you may treat it as a finesse weapon. Finally, you add your proficiency bonus, up to your levels in this class (minimum 2), to your AC as Natural Armor so long as you are wearing light armor or less.

Maw and Tail

Starting at 6th level, you have become skilled at exploiting enemy weaknesses and overwhelming them with rapid strikes from multiple directions.

On a turn when you make a melee weapon or spell attack, you may use your bonus action to make an additional melee weapon attack.
Additionally, when an enemy misses you with an attack in melee, you may use your reaction to make a single melee attack against them.

Winged Might

By level 10, the essence of the Void Dragon has suffused the Warlock's being, binding them to the weave of the universe. Like their astral patron, they subsist on magic alone, and no longer need to eat, drink, sleep or breathe, though they may still do so if they wish and are subject to any negative repercussions therefrom. They still require rest to reduce exhaustion and still benefit from finishing short and long rests.

Additionally, you gain the ability to manifest a mortal echo of your patrons wings as a Bonus Action. The inside of these wings when unfurled shows a starscape of wheeling galaxies, twisting nebula and burning stars. The wings persist for one hour or until dismissed, though you may expend spell slots to increase their duration for 1 hour/spell level. While manifested, you gain a flight speed equal to ten times your proficiency modifier, and advantage on Intimidation (CHA) checks. Once you have used this ability, you cannot use it again until you take a Long Rest.

Master of the Starry Night

At 14th level, you have become increasingly attuned to the cosmos. While your wings are manifested, you are covered in spectral green scales so dark they are nearly black, and gain the following additional benefits: you no longer age, and have resistance to all non-magical damage. While the light of the stars can touch you, the duration of your wings does not decrease, and you can see in non-magical darkness as if it were light.
