Base Class: Druid
Druids within of the Circle of Preservation value life, safety and hearth. Hailing connections with celestials, the Feywild and tranquil groves, These druids seek to cherish life, protect those in need of aid and offer guidance. While they may not be the most combative, they are exceptionally good with utility and preservation of friends, family and even strangers in need. Their powerful magic undoes wounds, offer condolences and keep the ebb and flow of battle in their favor. With the idea of preservation in mind, these druids may struggle to find an ability to channel their inner aggression.
Plant Shape
Starting at 2nd level, you do not gain the ability to Wild Shape. Instead, you can use your action to magically assume the shape of a plant that you have seen before. You can use this feature five times. You regain expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Your druid level determines the plants you can transform into. At 2nd level, for example, you can transform into any plant that has a challenge rating of 1/4 or lower.
The CR increases to 1/2 at 4th level, 1 at 8th level, 2 at 12th level and 5 at 16th level.
While shapeshifted, you assume all properties of a plant. You are considered mindless for being the target of most effects, but capable of thoughts normally as your character would.
If you are ingrained in fertile soil, you gain fast healing 5.
If you are ingrained in the ground that's not actively hostile toward you, you gain fast healing 1
When you transform, your hitpoints is equal to the Plant's hit points plus your proficiency bonus. Being slain while shapeshifted ends the form immediately and returns you to your normal form.
After channeling for two turns, you may expel a billow of petals, spores, pollen or otherwise similar pleasant plant-like effects depending on the shape you're in. All allies within 10ft of you regain 1 hit point and are granted 1d4 temporary hit points for one minute.
Circle Spells
Your sense of preservation infuses with you additional magic to bring safety and guidance to others in need. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to additional spells to help others as well as yourself seek guidance and safety.
Your want to preserve others allows you to act and cast selflessly.
- You can maximize the effect of any healing spell you cast on another target. You can do this a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.
- You always have advantage on Medicine checks.
- You can grant allies advantage on any mental skill check (ones that use Int / Wis / Cha). You can grant allies this bonus a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

Burst of Life
Starting at 6th level, a Circle of Preservation druid may emit a burst of life to heal all nearby wounded allies.
- To use Burst of Life, you must spend a full round action and sacrifice a spell slot.
- You can choose up to your wisdom modifier in targets plus one (Minimum 1) within 30 feet of yourself, including yourself.
- After completion, immediately expel a wave of lively nature energy, healing 3 points of damage [multiplied by spell level] to all targets. At the start of your next turn, you pulsate another wave of life, restoring the same amount every turn for 3 turns. (4 bursts in total)
For example, if you sacrifice Speak with Plants, a 3rd level spell, each ally gains restores 9 health per wave. 36 hp for all four waves.
This healing can target plants at no additional cost to the maximum amount of allies affected. Healing is doubled to vegetation. This healing is not positive energy.
Preserve
A Preservation druid is always ready to aid an ally in need amidst the throes of combat.
Starting at level 10, a Circle of Preservation druid can focus their Burst of Life into a powerful safeguard for an ally.
Preserve is always considered a readied action and can be used immediately after an ally takes damage as a bonus action. You can ready other actions in place of Preserve
- Expend a Wild Shape charge to grant an ally resistance to two damage types [acid, bludgeoning, cold, fire, force, lightning, necrotic, piercing, poison, psychic, radiant, slashing, and thunder] (Chosen upon casting) for a number of turns equal to your wisdom modifier. This increases to three types at 14th level and four types at 18th level
- Using Preserve also heals an ally for 1d4+1 hit points
- If Burst of Life is active, this instead heals for (Burst of Life heal per wave * rounds remaining+1 * wisdom modifier)
Example: Blossom, a Circle of Preservation druid with 18 wisdom, casts Burst of Life as a first-level spell. Two of four waves have been emitted, so there are 2 charges remaining.
An ally has taken a mighty blow, knocking them unconscious! She immediately casts Preserve to heal an ally, restoring [3 x 3 x 4] health for a total of 36 health.
Treant Form
When you reach 14th level, you may spend a Plant Shape charge to shapeshift into a Treant. You are now able to use Burst of Life and Preserve whilst shapeshifted
In addition to all features of a Treant and effects of your Plant Shape:
- Your shade provides some cover to your friends, giving them an easier chance to dodge. Enemies have disadvantage on attacks to allies adjacent of the Treant
- Increase the temporary hit point effect granted by your Plant Shape ability to 12 and the range is increased to a 30ft radius. Channeling time is reduced to one full round action.
- You have the ability to speak with plants at will
You cannot use Treant Form again until after you finish a Long Rest.
At 20th level, increase the health of Treant Form by 35, AC and Attack bonus by one and increase the temporary hit points granted from your Plant Shape Ability to 18. Additionally, this form may be used two times per Long Rest instead.
