College of Parades

The College of Parades proudly marches with musical soldiers called balladeers. Balladeers are the noble drummers and pipers supporting the lines of war, and pioneers of music and magic. Successful balladeers become leaders among their ranks, admired as heroic martyrs or pillars of idealism. They lead the path to victory as heralds of good, or evil.

The College of Parades beats the war drums and the marching rhythms of every noble and terrible conquest. By its nature, the College of Parades always chooses a side during conflicts. It has survived through the centuries with the victory of others.

Lively Steps

3rd-level College of Parades feature

You can march long distances without tiring, and you inspire the same fortitude in your allies. When one or more creatures within 30 feet of you makes a Strength, Constitution, or Dexterity saving throw, you can use your reaction to expend one use of Bardic Inspiration. Roll the Bardic Inspiration die. Each creature you choose gains a bonus to its save equal to the number rolled.

Passionate Performer

3rd-level College of Parades feature

You have intimately learned an art called a Passion Song. Your song might be a marching rhythm, an inspiring speech, or a weapons display. You learn two passion songs from the options listed below, and each time you gain a level in this class, you can replace one passion song you know with a different one from this feature. When you reach certain levels in this class, you learn additional passion songs, as shown in the Songs Known table.

Songs Known

As an action, you can perform a passion song you know. The song targets each creature you choose within 30 feet of you. If the song requires a saving throw, the DC is equal to your spell save DC. Once you perform a passion song, you can't perform that song again until you finish a long rest.

The following options are available to you when you learn a passion song:

Song of Armor

As an action, you give each creature you choose within 30 feet of you a bonus to its AC until the end of your next turn. The bonus is equal to your Charisma modifier.

Song of Death

As an action, each creature you choose within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or take psychic damage equal to your level + your Charisma modifier.

Song of Life

As an action, each creature you choose within 30 feet of you regains a number of hit points equal to your level + your Charisma modifier.

Song of Swords

As an action, each creature you choose within 30 feet of you gains a bonus to the next attack roll it makes before the end of your next turn. The bonus is equal to your Charisma modifier.

Song of Terror

As an action, each creature you choose within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or be frightened of you until the end of your next turn.

Dual Inspiration

6th-level College of Parades feature

When you expend a use of Bardic Inspiration to give a creature a Bardic Inspiration die, you can choose one additional creature other than yourself within 60 feet of you who can hear you. That creature also gains one Bardic Inspiration die.

Arcane Parade

14th-level College of Parades feature

Your magical presence inspires fierceness in others. When you cast a cast a spell of 1st-level or higher, you can use a bonus action to cast a second spell that targets only yourself or one ally. The second spell can't be higher than 3rd-level.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
