Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

You have made a pact with an entity that longs both love and despair. Granting promises of affection, it feeds on the pain it causes to those it lures. It does not distinguish social class, age or gender; anyone can be its next prey. Those who make deals with this mysterious entity either seek to be loved by everyone around them or make those whom they hate suffer a sweet death. Having been granted abilities to bewitch, some experience physical alterations that make them more beautiful, making it easier to gain people's trust and attention; others become gaunt and horrid, bearing the mark of their dark patron, while still being able to mimic its cursed actions.

Expanded Spell List

1st-level Widower feature

The Widower lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Fathomless Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells
1st  ray of sickness, silvery barbs
2nd   phantasmal force, zone of truth
3rd   fast friends, slow
4th   confusion, dominate beast
5th   dominate person, geas

Natural Charm

1st-level Widower feature

At 1st level, you learn the charm person spell, and it doesn't count against your number of spells known. In addition, you can cast it at its base level with this trait without expending a spell slot a number of times equal to you proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest. You can also cast this spell using any spell slots you have.

Life Siphon

1st-level Widower feature

As a bonus action, you can steal the life essence of those you bewitched, dealing 1d10 necrotic damage to a number of targets charmed by you equal to your Charisma modifier (maximum of five) that you can see within 60 feet of you, regaining hit points equal to half the amount of necrotic damage dealt (rounded down). You roll damage separately to each target.

After the siphon, you can attempt to maintain the charm on your targets by using your action to roll a Charisma saving throw (DC equals 10 + half of the overall damage dealt rounded down). On a success, the charm is maintained; either on a fail or by choosing not to use your action in this manner, the charm breaks as usual.

You can use this feature once at 1st level, twice at 5th level and thrice at 11th level. You regain all uses after completing a long rest.

Revel in Attention

6th-level Widower feature

You are immune to the charmed condition. In addition, when another creature attempts to charm you, you can use your reaction to use Life Siphon against that creature without spending a use of Life Siphon, and the necrotic damage dealt increases by 2d10.

Widower's Tongue

10th-level Widower feature

Your charming abilities are unmatched and unperceived by most. When a charm spell, such as friends or charm person ends and would make the target aware of a spell altering their behaviour, it instead goes unnoticed, blaming the spell's effects on a good mood, a swing of temper or your effective flattery and persuasion. If the charm ends due to the creature being damaged by you or your companions, or is forced to do something it wouldn't normally do, it will still become hostile towards you.

Enthrall and Consume

14th-level Widower feature

As a bonus action, you temporarily adopt a form of maximum splendor or absolute hideousness. All creatures charmed by you take 5d12 necrotic damage if they are withing 60 feet of you, as they are compelled to give up their life essence for you, and their charm is instantly broken. All your weapon and spell attacks deal an extra 1d10 necrotic damage, and the damaged target must make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or become frightened of you for 1 minute. If the frightened target takes any damage, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
