Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

It could be you were tasked by an archdruid to protect an ancient grove.  Maybe you come from a village that has lived in and worshipped a great forest since the beginning of history.  Or perhaps you took it upon yourself to guard a site of natural beauty from the destruction of man.  Whatever the reason, you have become sentry to all plant-life.  As part of your duty, nature itself has granted blessings upon you so that you may better defend it.

Plant Speech

You gain the ability to speak with and understand plants.  Plants typically only understand and convey basic concepts.  Additionally, you can’t be hindered by difficult terrain created by nonmagical plants.

One With Nature

When you enter your rage, plantlike features grow from your body, revealing your connection to the natural world.  These features grant different benefits and detriments on your body.  You choose the type of plant your body mimics each time you rage.

Creeping Moss

You are resistant to fire and cold damage.  As a bonus action on each of your turns, you can cause the moss to spread, gaining temp HP equal to your proficiency bonus and dealing twice that much poison damage to all creatures of your choice within 5 ft.  However, you cannot attack the same target more than once each turn.

Rooted Tree

Your AC increases by +2.  You are immune to the prone condition and cannot be moved against your will.  However, your movement speed is halved.

Twisting Vines

Your reach increases by 5 ft.  You can make an unarmed strike with one of your vines as a bonus action each turn when you take the Attack action, and if the attack hits, you automatically grapple the target.  You can have up to two targets grappled by your vines at a time.  However, while grappling a target, you have disadvantage on attacks against any other target.

Sun Eater

If you are at or below half your max hp, you can use a bonus action to regain hp equal to your level plus your Constitution modifier.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all uses when you finish a long rest.

Additionally, you no longer need to eat or drink as long as you spend at least one hour resting in direct sunlight per day.

Wrath of Nature

While raging, when you take the Attack action, you can replace an attack with one of the following special attacks, depending on the plant form you choose.  Each of these special attacks is considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunities.  If one of the attacks requires a save, the DC equals (8 + Proficiency Bonus + Strength Modifier).

Erupting Root

Send your roots down, and then erupt them up from the earth in a 15 ft cone. Creatures of your choice in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d12 bludgeoning damage and fall prone.  On a success, a creature takes half damage and doesn’t fall prone.

Suffocating Spread

Your moss spreads anywhere moist, even onto other creatures.  Creatures of your choice within 10 ft must make a Constitution saving throw or become blinded and deafened for 1 minute, or until it ends its turn more than 30 ft away from you.

Whipping Vines

Make two unarmed strikes.  If both attacks hit the same target, and the target is no more than two sizes larger than you, the target is restrained by your vines.  The creature can use it’s action to try to escape using either Acrobatics or Athletics contested by your Athletics.

Nature’s Champion

When you enter a rage, you can choose to adopt two of the plant forms simultaneously, gaining the benefits and detriments of both forms for the duration of the rage.  Alternatively, you can take on one form and grant one of the other forms to a willing ally within 30 ft of you that lasts for the duration of your rage.  An ally using one of your forms does not gain access to your Wrath of Nature feature.

Once you use this feature for either option, you can’t use either option again until you finish a long rest.
