Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

“… I don’t suppose you entirely had a plan out there, did you, Anverth?”

- Melarodin, a dragonborn gladiator.

”No, not precisely. I mean, Eddie got downed by all those wolves. What else was I supposed to do? I had to do something.”

- Anverth, a gnome private eye.

”So taking the vehicle and running over all the direwolves, entirely missing Eddie, was all a spur of the moment choice?”

- Melarodin.

“Yep. Someone has to look out for the rest of us.”

- Anverth.

”Hff… You always have been.”

- Melarodin.

Those whom take the mantle of Captain command their influence over the battlefield in a way truly unlike any other before. They can organize rank, inspire their comrades, and rally others to do amazing things.

Captain Magic

Starting at 3rd level, you learn an additional spell when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown in the Captain Spells table. The spell counts as a ranger spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of ranger spells you know.

Bonus Proficiencies

When choosing this archetype at level 3, you gain proficiency with Heavy armor. You also gain proficiency in 2 skills and a language of your choice.

Chief’s Command

At level 3, your control over the battlefield is unrivaled. As a bonus action, you target a friendly creature (other than yourself) and roll a d6, you may then grant that creature a bonus to their next attack roll or damage roll equal to the number rolled. This benefit lasts until the start of your next turn. Alternatively, as a reaction to a friendly creature that you can see within 60 feet being attacked, you can roll a d6 and add the number rolled to that creature’s armor class against that specific attack.

The 1d6 you roll for this feature increases to 1d8 at 11th level of ranger, and again to 1d10 at 17th level of ranger. You can use this feature a number of times up to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Talented

At 7th Level, you’ve become more well-rounded in order to lead others better. You gain half proficiency in all Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma based skills you lack proficiency in.

Priority Targets

At 11th Level, when you target an enemy as your Favored Foe, you also mark them for death to your allies. The first attack you or a friendly creature make against a favored foe on your turn benefits from advantage, and will deal your favored foe’s extra damage die (you only deal the extra damage once).

Commander

At 15th level, your presence on the battlefield hardens the resolve of your comrades. When you issue a Chief’s Command on a friendly creature as a bonus action, that creature can add the bonus die to both their next attack and damage roll.

Additionally, you also gain 2 more uses of your Chief’s Command feature.
