Ruffian

Ruffians are scoundrels and thugs that choose to use a mixture of brute force and underhand tactics in battle to get the upper hand.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the intimidation skill and with medium armor.

Brutish Personality

Starting at 3rd level, you specialize in doing your business with less precise weaponry, you can do sneak attack damage with any simple melee weapon.

Gang Up

Starting at 3rd level, you are able to more savagely attack enemies that your allies are already attacking. When attacking a creature with a simple melee weapon that is within 5 feet of an ally, you have advantage on the attack roll.

Go For The Legs

Starting at 9th level, you know how to send a fleeing opponent face first into the ground. When you hit with an attack of opportunity against a creature leaving your combat range, you can force them to make a Dexterity saving throw (8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failed save, they are knocked prone and their speed is reduced to 0 for the rest of their turn.

Mob Tatics

Starting at 13th level, you are able to batter your foes into submission to the benefit of your allies. When you trigger sneak attack on a creature using a simple melee weapon, the next attack roll made by one of your allies against the creature has advantage before the start of your next turn.

Making an Example

Starting at 17th level, you know how to brutalize someone to send a message to others. When you reduce a creature's hit points to 0 with a sneak attack, enemies within 30 feet that can see you must make a wisdom saving throw (8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus). On a failure, they are frightened of you for 1 minute. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
