Monk
Base Class: Monk

As the fifth born of Pyhtagorea, you have learned the calculations of fighting through mathematical formula. Your methods are precise. Your movements are intent and fluid. Mathematics are consistent and so is the monk who chooses the Way of Pythagorea.

Precise Intellect

When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Investigation skill if you don’t already have it and your Intelligence score increases by +2 (maximum of 20).

Subtractive Caution

Additionally at 3rd level, you learn how to sidestep oncoming attacks by preserving your energy. Whenever you reserve at least 10 ft. of your walking speed on your turn, as a reaction you can spend 2 ki points to move out of the way of the next attack made against you, provided it is in the same round of combat. You can choose to expend the ki points once the attack is made against you. You impose disadvantage on that attack.

Warding Theorem

Starting at 6th level, when you trace your way completely around a creature you can spend 2 ki points to create a ward of safety from all of those outside its space. This tracing can be in any shape you wish to move as long as it does not exceed your movement speed.

Once you make a complete loop around your target, the ward is complete. In order to leave the space of your ward, the targeted creature must make a Wisdom saving throw equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.

On a failed save, the creature cannot leave the space you have created around it and it must repeat its save at the start of each of its turns. On a successful save, the creature leaves your ward but takes 2d8 force damage.

Domineering Notation

Starting at 11th level, whenever you roll a 1 on any attack roll or saving throw, you can spend 1 ki point to reroll that die. You must use the new roll.

Calculating Mind

At 17th level, your mathematically trained mind can predict the possible outcomes of combat. You gain advantage on initiative rolls as well as advantage on your first attack roll in a new initiative.
